Tatum shooting 30% on pull up jumpers. How bad? Jalen Green is shooting 34%.

Friendly reminder that the Philadelphia 76ers drafted Mikael Bridges.

Lakers are in the right direction. They are a fun team.

The sad part is how blatantly obvious it was to keep him on draft day.

Wow I thought they reported he wasn’t going to be bought out. Guess something changed. Wish we got him, he’s still an excellent rebounder.

Apparently has a thumb injury so can’t shoot. If that’s the case then his effectiveness is compromised. Otherwise yeah he was a good fit including the rebounding, shooting and playmaking.

Yeah, it wasn't.
The trade turned out sh**** for a number of reasons. But there are also plenty of alternate scenarios where it could have ended up in the Sixers favor even without Mikal.
Just to list two as examples: the most obvious thing, and what I think they expected to do, was to use the pick as part of a package to trade for Kawhi.
Another option would have been to just draft SGA and ignore the LA only drivel (dude seems fine in OKC now).

Reports are that Miami is the most likely landing spot for Love. Which I don't think is a good fit. If Love and Adebayo are playing in the frontcourt together, there's no shotblocking whatsoever.
Ironically, his old stomping grounds in Minnesota would be a good fit. He can play in lineups with a great shotblocker at both C and F in Gobert and McDaniels. He can fill the same function as Towns.

The move was drafting Shai. Plenty of people here said it at the time. Not me. I didn't get it. But I remember there was plenty of call for it.

Re: Around the League: 2022-23 Season 3.0
The second round that year was insane.
Gary Trent
Jalen Brunson
Devonte Graham
Shake Milton
DeAnthony Melton
Bruce Brown
Hamidou Dialo
Mitchell Robinson
Jevon Carter
Jared Vanderbilt
Of course we had 4 picks in the 2nd round and only ended up with one of those players on draft night.

I would guess the evaluation of the scouting department decided that Zhaire was basically Mikal in waiting. Obviously different body types, but Zhaire put up elite defensive stats and had good 3pt% despite being low volume.
The red flag, as usual, was the FT%. Barely cracking 70%. If he were a shot creator or shot 3s at volume, I'd be willing to forgive it to an extent. But he was a highly assisted offensive player who had an unproven shot.
I think they were planning on using him similar to how we're "developing" Springer and was hoping he'd become a good role player by this point, but obviously that wasn't meant to be. I would have been OK with drafted Mikal as he very much projected to be a role player. I'm still not sure he projects to be more, but he's definitely elite at what he does.
I still can't believe SGA fell as far as he did. I won't beat that dead horse, but it makes no sense that we even had the opportunity to draft him. I mean, Kevin Knox? Bagley? Bamba? Intriguing prospects at the time, but a 6'6 PG who carried Kentucky (when Knox was doing NOTHING) through defense, scoring, and distributing can't fall that far.

We talking alternate scenarios not reality but alternate scenarios ? I would just like for the rest of my life for any trade the 76ers do let it is at least be win/win and not a dogchit trade that has this team looking like idiots afterwards.
Just because I am that guy today. What alternate scenarios would have been good for this team as it relates to the Bridges trade?
And before anyone blames Bret Brown. It was not his fault, he was the coach forced into a position he should not have been in. Adam Sliver, Josh Harris and the Colangelo's are directly to blame here. The 76ers should have been awarded multiple first round picks for the tampering Adam Silver did.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

I mean Shai would have been the better pick, but if it was between Mikal and Zhaire/pick it was no question. Zhaire was a nothing in college and Mikal was ready to play at a position of need for us.

Again, a lot of people on this board thought Bridges was mid of all mid. There was not an overwhelming amount of exuberance here when he was drafted. The sentiment was mostly, yeah, okay, fine.

Re: Around the League: 2022-23 Season 3.0
I still think the Mikal trade was not that big of a blunder.
At that point the idea was to collect picks so we could made a trade that help us to contend by getting a guy to pair with Joel and Ben and create a big 3.
The pick was great and fair value at the moment, the blunder was using all the capital in trading for Tobias. The moment that trade happened the team was forced to max him too.
No drafting Shai was a bigger issue, but we also probably include him on the Tobias trade, so i don't think it matter too much

TBF to Zhaire, he was arguably the best (as far as all around) players at 18 years old no less, on that Texas Tech team who went to the Elite Eight and, ironically, lost to a juggernaut (and eventual champions) Villanova team. He had success, incredible advanced stats, and youth on his side. He wasn't the worst pick in the world.
The problem is that we still, incredibly, didn't have a creator on offense. We had a fake creator in Ben Simmons and a guy whose right arm didn't work any more in Fultz. The Collaboration was likely too afraid to draft someone who could threaten the power structure of on ball offensive creators, so we drafted with the intention of a role player, which is remarkably stupid.

I know a lot of the board liked SGA but I thought there wasn’t much difference between him and Shake going into the draft. Oops. Age matters.
