Springer says he's feeling good....
No doubt in my mind the nonsensical Springer in RF and Varsho in LF is a favour being given to Springer to move him out of Bo's hazard zone.

Is anybody here a marine biologist?

Kiermeier the sacrifrice for this season.

I thought Springer made sense in RF because he has a stronger arm than Varsho? Why do you think it's nonsensical?

Varsho has the better arm. Almost certainly better range as well.

Re: General Blue Jays Thread pt. 2
Here is my question that i wondered what you guys thought. I was big on chasing rodon this off-season. He ultimately got 6x 27 from yanks.
It’s equal money so which would you rather have? (Assume varsho trade still happened and Greene signed as it still works for this)
Would you rather have spend the 41m on:
bassitt (3x21),
belt (1/9)
Kk (1/9)
Swanson (1m in 2023, then rest of arby for remaining years)
and Macko
Or
Rodon (6x27)
Teo (1/14)

That's a lot of eggs in the basket of a guy that has had numerous arm problems. Last season was the first time in his career that he was healthy enough to start 30 games, and he was non-tendered as recently as two years ago (and re-signed for a fraction of his arb value) as a consequence.
**** your asterisk.

Re: General Blue Jays Thread pt. 2
Pretty clearly the first option for the reasons Schad mentioned above as well as
Rodón at six years would give us 3/5 of a very expensive and aging pitching staff with at least four years remaining on their contracts. Adding on Manoah and you have 4/5 of a rotation not going anywhere. Even Bassit’s three years concerns me a little re blocking younger talent. You just can’t have that many long term contracts. Free agents are great but the core of successful teams are usually comprised of home gown talent
