Personally I want to see us target FVV or Ben Simmons for now. If we don't like the price, then i'm defaulting back to the 1st rd pick, so don't be surprised if I pick 1rd rd pick next round if its on the board.

Edit : My decision is based on us not defying any odds and keeping our 5th pick and drafting a Dick type player. I do not think the ping pong balls fall our way to the 1st pick otherwise we all picked our first priority wrong.
I love this logic. I think it has the highest likelihood.

The reality is, I am a "let's add two draft picks and roll it back" kinda guy. That being said, I am all for having the conversations to upgrade and see if its for a price I like. Going into 2025 sets up a world of possibilities. We are about to see some serious consequences come 24-25 season when Lebron has likely retired and the consequences of an aging Warriors + who wins the next two years champeenship forces another shuffle that decides where the next 20 second round picks go.

My run it back preference hinges on Markelle Fultz locking up the starting point guard position. I really want to see +- and lineup analysis reflect highly on him.

Hard to say 3 years out because we don’t know the sizes of contracts, who the Magic land, and how they perform.

I’m going 2023 pick because they will still be on a rookie deal depending on who is selected with the highest pick.

I picked Jalen Suggs. He has been inconsistence these two years at Magic. But he still has all the physical tools and skills to be a very good 2 guard or PG for the Magic. He has a very high ceiling.

Speaking of the two lottery picks we have this year. I don't think we need to pick both players out of NBA Draft. We can always package one or two for a star player in return given the chance. Why? We have too much youth and we need veteran players if we want to say hello to playoff next year

The #5-to-7 pick in the draft will not be projected to have more value than Carter. And probably not more value than Fultz, or Isaac, or Suggs, and perhaps not even Bol.

This vote looks like it will be Heart over Head.

Oh Well.

...

Anyhow, I picked Carter because, simply stated, he is the 3rd best player on this team.

This round is a tough one. I think we have too many valuable assets to forgo a consolidation trade that brings in an impact player. Doubly so if we miss out on a top two draft selection. So my vote is for FA/Trade.

I am so happy that RealGM fans are not the Magic GM.

This is enough information to say that our most popular high upside scenario is to build around Paolo, Franz, one of Wemby or Scoot, and Isaac. There is a divergence of opinion around who is our 4th most valuable asset with no clear favorite but Isaac winning the vote does make sense. At 6'11 if not 7'0 he's a long wing that compliments our other stud wings with elite defense. Hopefully we can see more PT for Isaac through the rest of the season.

A lot of clarity will be lost if we miss out on a top 2 draft selection but that won't a bad thing or a set back by any stretch.

As much as I would love winning a higher pick then what we are statistically expected to get. I do not want to plan my next 3 seasons around that.

It's kinda a "yikes" from peoples opinion on the board. But as some say, they prefer "hope".

I think though that the ranking of assets after we get our presumed opinion on picks out of the way of Isaac being high does make sense. Even though I would rank him higher then any potential trade or free agent. Isaac, is a good dark horse. It's like having Ben Wallace or Rasheed Wallace (thinking body + defensive types) available. It's a unique key piece that if he works out could even become our starting center. So I kinda understand the hope / hype still surrounding him.

I don’t see how Isaac has more value than Suggs and WCJ.

TL:DR version of my post.

Isaac is an elite defender healthy who can shoot 3 and potentially guard 4 positions and if his size is an indicator maybe play 3 positions.

WCJ is a good center that I have zero complaints with. Does nothing elite.

Suggs is still an enigma. He should get better. His defense is already great. Needs a lot of work in other areas. His 3pt shot is coming around though.

A healthy Isaac is probably the rarest in terms of raw talent. Followed by Suggs, followed by WCJ. Upside I have no idea where Suggs will land.
