All-Star Weekend Thread
Probably not needed, but figured that I'll make it in case people want to discuss the game or any of the events from last night!

Re: All-Star Weekend Thread
Ant is really impressing me with his soundbites so far. Excited to see what he brings to the court tonight, I think he'll surprise some folks! And I think he may go higher in the draft than common folk expect.

Seen a lot of complaints about the team skills challenge thing. Idea: A 2-on-2 father/son tournament. Eventually you have the James family, the Martin family, the Payton family, the Curry family, etc.

Go Ant! #1 pick by Lebron...there's some respect!
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Skills challenge needs to tidy up, feeld like watch a bunch of 4th graders dribbling in warmup. Maybe the fastest going full court layup without traveling, horse, longest pass (to a target), first to make a 1/2 court shot, etc.

Re: All-Star Weekend Thread
I tried to watch the game to see Ant and had to turn it off after about 10 minutes.
What an abomination. Guys just camping on one end of the court waiting for their next dunk. Not even pretending to get in the way.
I know its a showcase and you're not supposed to play defense, but this was a whole another level from what I'm used to.
They've fallen a long way since KG won All-Star game MVP in 2003 in double OT.
If they're going this route might as well scrap the game like the NFL and turn it into a bunch of skills competitions and make the players participate.
How about a survivor style team shooting competition where if you miss you are eliminated and each team trades shots with all 12 players until one is left. Could shoot from 5 different 3 point spots.
It would be a better dunk contest if you gave all 24 guys who earned their way there 3 dunks instead of a few guys no one has ever heard of or cares about.
Great soundbite from Ant on media day about why "load management" and players missing games sucks for fans.
He's not going to make a lot of friends by saying it, but it was so true.
With his charisma and maturity for his age and the way he treats the fans so well and just leaves everything out on the floor every night, I sure hope he is here for a very long time.

I have a feeling like every star participated in ASG looks tired right now.
