Nobody deserves to be 'canceled'. That's mob justice. You have the justice system to sort out people like Karl. Sometimes it fails, but it's not the job of the rest of us to dish out mob justice.

OK, so maybe 'nobody' is a strong word. Some people probably deserve to be canceled. But I think we need a Ted Bundy or Harvey Weinstein threshold or it's going to get slippery really fast.

I'd argue the rape of a minor hits that threshold, but maybe that's just me.

He mostly has been. He’s talked about in positive terms a lot less than other all time nba greats, and he’s almost never present at nba functions.

Why are Lebron and Kareem taking the stage with him at halftime? What hypocrisy. I’ve lost all respect for both of them

Being in the same physical area as another person without making some kind of statement denouncing them does not mean you’re affirming everything that they’ve done.

I think it’s pretty safe to assume Lebron and Kareem hold the view that impregnating a 13 year old as an adult is a bad thing to do. And as easy as it is to point the finger at them and demand that they do more to address all that’s wrong with our society from the comfort of our own home and couch, let’s be honest and admit that we’d probably do the same in their situation.

No, I’m being honest. I would not step out in front of millions of people and validate (shake hands and hug) a pedophile.

They were willing to take a stance and disassociate with Malone. It’s quite sad.

Well I guess that you are morally superior to Kareem and Lebron then.

We don’t know each other, that’s fine. But I think the more pertinent question is, “why do you hold yourself to such a low standard?”

You’d be willing to shake hands and hug a pedophile. Very sad. Guess there is no line for you.

Idk man…Kareem has been on this pedestal for years and he’s doing that crap. Like wtf. I’ve looked into this today and it’s so disgusting what Karl Malone has done to hurt people thru the years. It’s hard to believe what this has come down too. I posted a video of Kobe also…this is a sick, sick person

No, I didn’t say that. I was making the point that it’s very easy to point and judge others when we’ve likely made our own individual moral concessions in our own lives.

Those NBA fans should stop embarrassing themselves by talking about Karl Malone. Most of you have no right to do it.

Imagine comparing adultery to a 20 year old man impregnating a 13 year old child. Go away.

I compared sexual assault with statutory rape.
Karl Malone is a PoS. Kobe was a little bit less of a PoS.
If you defend Kobe then you are are the one who is completely full of ****.

True. But these circles are full of double standards which is enhanced by ignorant fandom.

By calling it adultery you completely proved his point. Both are and were scum bags.

All sexual assault charges were dropped. Gotta love how we went from "innocent until proven guilty" to "guilty even when declared innocent".

Didn't they make it up outside of the court by Bryant giving the victim loads of money.. Just proves that he was indeed guilty. Non guilty would never do such deed.

People settle out of court all the time to save on attorney fees and because they’re not sure how a jury will vote.

If you see the documentary “Pepsi, Where’s My Jet?” Pepsi offered John Leonard $750,000 to settle out of court, but John still wanted a Harrier Jet. When it went to court a judge ordered that Pepsi didn’t have to give him a Harrier Jet, and he got nothing.

Pepsi wasn’t “guilty,” for offering a settlement statement.

I don’t know whether Kobe did it or not but “no non guilty person would settle a civil case” is just categorically false.

Kind of gross. I wonder if the NBA guys like all that stuff about Malone. Obviously they don’t dislike it

RIP Gilbert

Very sad to lose norm macdonald, bob saget and Gilbert Gottfried within a year. The saget roast is still the best one.
