Depends on what happens with PJ and Miles. If we make big commitments to both of them it wouldn't make much sense to add Jabari.

Hard pass. Rockets are force feeding him minutes and shots. He has one of the worst efg% in the entire league and he isn't even good at other things besides scoring. 1.2 assists, 7 boards, 2.5 fta... where is the upside?

Basically you trade for him and hope he figures out how to shoot, I would rather go after a guy that is at least elite at other stuff if I have to teach both how to shoot.

Draft pick breakdown for me if we land each pick.
1. Wemby
2. Amen or Miller depending on Bridges situation. If Bridges is back I lean towards Thompson as a connector, another guy that can play in transition and handle the ball and add a defensive stopper to the starting lineup. If Bridges is not back then I would lean towards Miller as a snipper and 2nd scorer on the wing at the forward positions.
3. Amen or Miller still
4. Scoot- I have him 4th on my board currently as he presents pretty much all the same issues that we have with Rozier. Smaller backcourt, shoot first guard.
5. Ausar- He shoots it better than Amen. Not as good of a ball handler or scorer, but still a really athletic defender who can pass the ball.

Why would you ever let a friend borrow your gun? I guess more importantly for him, can you dodge culpability if you prove you lent it but didn't know for what purpose? I'd guess so if the DA's quote about not being able to charge Miller is accurate. Either way that kid is a moron.

There is nothing illegal about letting a friend borrow a gun unless they're prohibited from possessing one (felon, Lautenberg, etc). I've let friends borrow guns on plenty of occasions.

Unless he knew Miles was otherwise prohibited from being in possession of a firearm or Miller knew he had nefarious plans then there isn't really an issue. Hard to really judge without knowing the social environment they have down there. He could've let somebody borrow a car or a hammer that was used to kill someone

I think it does raise some questions about his friend group and background that needs to be looked into and cleared before draft night. Is this just a random one-off by a bad egg in his friend group, or does he hang out with bad people? I think he's a great prospect but with Miles' situation, I don't know if the FO will be willing to run that risk without extensive background research

I guess I can understand letting a friend borrow a gun if they were heading to the range or out to hunt or whatever. I grew up in the country so owning guns isn't a foreign concept. I'd just be super cautious about doing it unless I knew the specific purpose, that's the bonehead move imo.

I mean yeah, I agree. We really don't have enough details to say for sure the circumstances. I would like to think the type of person who would commit murder would exhibit some warning signs that would make me not want to involve myself with them, but I really don't know for sure.

The police apparently don't think he had any real involvement so I'll have to take that at face value. I'm just curious now about the environment Miller is in and if it's a bad omen for him.

I don't care who they hang out with as long as they don't bring the trouble to the team. I have no idea why successful people CHOOSE to hang around lames / bad influences if they have an alternative not too.
