KA has a proven record with guards in this league, there really isn't a better coach out there in that regard. I can't remember what Snyder does well, but one of those guys need to be hired asap. There will be other jobs open come this summer.

My vote is for Becky Hammon. She is from the Spurs system. Maybe she can bring the same magic that Budz brought to Atlanta all those years ago.

Sonia Raman is also another candidate who is suppose to have a very high Basketball IQ.

I really like ORL's young coach Mosely...but, if Quin Snyder batted his eyes this way, I'd pack his bags and drive him to the airport. Utah hit some ceilings, but their ball movement was beautiful. Good luck vs everyone but ORL.

Mosley and Silas are like the bottom of the barrel coaches no offense. It's more a testament to the depth of good coaches in the league now. Snyder strikes as a guy wanting a vet team, not even a younger playoff team like the Hawks.

He might also have reservations about an org that dumped their well-regarded veteran coach when, allegedly, the bulk of the team did not side with the ball-dominant young star in whatever disagreement took place. (no offense)

One thing was clear: Trae Young will not be involved in the decision-making process, but is in line with vision that the Hawks have in place. Landry also insisted that Hawks fans have Faith in their front office, and that they will select the right person for the job.

He is technically still under contract with the Jazz through the end of next season.

It will be interesting to see if the Jazz just terminate the agreement, or ask for something in return. Knowing Ainge, it will likely be the latter.

The existing contract also makes me think that Snyder didn't just quit from the Jazz (where his contract would terminate) but was actually terminated.

Not sure about that, they tried to extend his contact the year before, while he already had an option for 2023-24 in his current contract.
What I see is more that UTA would have prefered to keep him, but they wanted to change the roster, trading mains players, and Snyder didn't want to coach a rebuild team and needed a break.
Then, they certainly agreed to keep the contract "alive" for something benefiting both sides, but especially Ainge's side.

If Quin Snyder is still under contract he must still be drawing a paycheck. Should be easy for his team to let him go and quit paying him. If they aren't paying him, what is the problem? No money, no payday, easy decision to terminate the contract.

Something wrong with NBA coaches contracts any way. They should read, "You work for us. No work, no pay." "We pay, you work for us. Coach - Scout - Sell peanuts - Something."

Dusting this off just in case...

I was in favor of bringing in Quin Snyder.
I believe he's done a good job.
But a new PBO/GM may choose to clean house.
