i think flag football is legitimately ENTERTAINING.

the prob with the asg is a serious one, ie the players don't try and all the incentives silver tries to install doesn't work. it's a game for social media

i think the asg is a chance to try many different things. who says it has to be played like a legit game with legit rules. all anybody cares is to see the stars anyway. i wanna see a 3on3 with embiid/giannis/jokic versus tatum/kd/pg13 versus curry/lillard/irving ,,,,,is what i want to see

i want to see 3pt dunks
i want to see 4pt 30'ers
or no 3pt shots
or 2pt blocks
or 750k to the winning team
or losers pay winners 50k per player,,,,,,in cash
or watch kd bench 120lbs 3 times

when the players asked for a longer break after All-Star Weekend you know the era of rest has gone off the deep end.

Silver is pro-player to a fault. He's practically letting the players run the league, which isn't a good thing. They provide a product to the fans, they shouldn't be allowed to half-ass the All-Star game (which is for the fans, not the players) and sit out whenever they feel like during the regular season.

I'm telling you that Silver is deathly afraid of the power he thinks the players potentially weld. As others have said more and more of the NBA's casual fans are fans of star players rather than actual teams and I think this current social media climate has also helped spooked Silver and the majority of these new owners to the point that they probably think if there were ever a lockout these new casual NBA fans would overwhelmingly support the stars. If Lebron, KD, Steph were to show a united front or come together on a certain issue and rally the rest of the league Silver and the owners would probably feel they're at a disadvantage and can't push back. The players have also positioned themselves where they really don't care what modern mainstream sports media thinks of them and since they have the platforms to speak for themselves that they don't need them or that they can get fans to dismiss them too. I still feel that if this current generation of players ever get an inclination that the league starts to become less pro-player or start rolling back some of the gains they've gotten that they will threaten to start their own league.
