Dame and Grant are out tonight for “rest”. Tank is on.

Seems like an odd way to start a playoff push. Maybe they meant a lottery push.

They flew in today. They were trapped in POrtland last night because of the weather. I get why they aren't playing them in a road game out two starters in which they flew in on day of same game.

They fly on game day all the time. It's an hour and a half flight to Sacramento. Grant hasn't played in 13 days. He's had almost two weeks of rest. Does he really need another day off? Dame hasn't played in 9 days.

This does not look like a move for a team trying to make the playoffs.

It's a beautiful world where there's no real win-win situation, is there? Grant was "resting" for two weeks because he was in the concussion protocol before the AS break.

What happens if they get injured because they flew in on the afternoon of a game? Will Portland's medical staff once again get dragged through the media (with not nuance or context or apologies when sources are wrong?).

In the grand scheme of it all - who cares? Dame and Grant didn't make this decision, the medical staff likely did. But yet Dame and Grant, Dame especially, are getting raked over the coals on the general board in one of the most hilarious (and sad) overreactions I've ever seen. The odds of Portland winning this game with them playing were already low due to other injuries. Why would Portland play them on a screwed up schedule? And don't try to compare flying in during the early, early morning hours on a b2b the same with flying in the afternoon of the game. Which I understand the league usually postpones those games in those cases outside a few rare ones, and Portland's wasn't cancelled.

If Portland had been planning to tank this game or sit them out ahead of this incident they would've listed them out yesterday with the four others they did. They didn't. Circumstances change. It's not the end of the world or a most nefarious act like the GB is trying to make it out to be. It's just business.

So Nurkic, Simons, Winslow, Grant, and Lillard are all sitting out. Is there another?

The kids managed to put up 116 points. Would like to see Sharpe take on a more prominent role.
