I am so done with this selfish prick, we should've left him in street clothes the rest of the season and told him to stay home.

Being any seed this year except 1 makes no difference. Still gotta play Milwaukee/Boston in the second round. That's as far as we can get this year.

What? Miami offered him nearly 30 a year for 3 years and after 1 year he had a catch and shoot SG replaced with a guy who "can" catch and shoot but took over a lot of playmaking duties. Lowry has a reason to be pissed, the role he was signed for isn't what he's done most of the season.
Now.. there was a time when Herro was out and Lowry had a less ball dominate player at SG so he handled the ball way more and did much better. In the 8 game stretch this season without Herro Lowry put up..
15.6 pts, 6.8 pts, 5.5 reb, on 7.9 3pta while shooting 38% beyond the arc.
You may remember that time, he had a 50 minute game in that stretch and also said he'd play as many minutes as the team needed and did.
Situations and roles change and that can cause issues with players and affect their production.

Lowry coming off the bench and staggering him away from Herro as much as possible is what needs to happen. I think it will happen.

True but he could be doing that elsewhere and quite possibly still playing the same role he's played for the last decade.
I think there may be a big wakeup call for this FO when the playoffs come and teams can scheme and practice to take certain players out of series. I hope to see this team in multiple rounds this year to see who players produce against different playoff teams.

A treadmill wouldn't hurt either.

Ok? This hasn't been an issue before getting to Miami, nor when he was averaging 38 minutes a game for that 8 game stretch for Miami, maybe in the future the Heat shouldn't sign players who don't have a record of being in tip top shape if it's that important to them.
I still believe it's the role, not the weight. It's pretty tough to go from being a pass first PG for most of your career to becoming basically an undersized catch and shoot SG. It's going to be interesting to see how Spoelstra handles all these guards, Lowry, Herro, Vincent and Oladipo when the rotation gets cut down for the playoffs.

Wait, so you're saying we should accept him being fat? You're saying that the player, himself, had no idea that Miami values fitness and routinely has fitness requirements (including BMI) for players built into their contracts? You're saying that Miami must not have had a conversation with him about where he needed to be, fitness-wise, to prolong his career?
Look, I'm all about Lowry. I love what he brings to the table. But I will not make excuses for him being fat. Do you know how CP3 earned his second act? By changing the way he ate and rededicating himself to fitness. Do you remember when LeBron came to Miami? We made him change his build so that he could better suit our style of play.
Weight requirements are normal for NBA teams (especially Miami), and if you're being paid $30 million a year, you damn well better live up to them!

It will be real interesting to see Spo coaching job if the team is healthy. We haven't been able to see what Spo really had planned for this team in regards to style and philosophy.
Oladipo, Lowry and Vincent are three different point guards that don't flourish in the same plays as an example. Now adding Love, new option of plays are available.

What is his BMI and what does his contract say he has to stay at BMI/weight wise? If he's not meeting the criteria put in his contract he'll have to forfeit some of his contract.

CP3 had fantastic numbers in Houston when Harden didn't play, you know, his role got much bigger with Harden not playing, yes he did change his diet but I don't know if that really had anything to do with his play and I watched him here in OKC.

Sure, and they can be written into the contracts in fact Zion's new contract has a weight clause. So I would assume a team with Miami's reputation would have that type of wording in player's contract and if it isn't, they screwed up on a player who historically played at a weight they don't approve of. Then again, I've only heard of Riley making a comment, I haven't seen any other comment about that at this time.
According to a NOLA.com report, Williamson’s contract features a clause that states he will have weigh-ins throughout his deal to measure his combined weight and body fat percentage to ensure it doesn’t exceed a total of 295. If it does, guaranteed money in Williamson’s extension, which kicks in at the start of the 2023-24 season, can be reduced.

Being old leads to injuries....being old and out of shape compounds the issue.
I dont care what his role is or contract says....if you are old and fat, you are going to be an oft-injured and inconsistent player.

Sure it can be in his contract, and through Heat history its been in players contracts. Been numerous players suspended or sent home because of the conditioning requirements they had for that player personally, example of players being suspended are Antoin Walker, James Posey and James Johnson. From my understanding, Pat did give Lowry the benefit of doubt to get him here. Pat did have the conversation with him, and whatever that conversation was it resulted in allowing Lowry to use his own people to get him in shape not the Miami Heat. But it was one of the concession they felt they needed to allow him to have to get him here over Philly. Its likely why the Heat went public with their disatification with Lowry workout results over the summer. They wanted him to feel the pressure, because they held up their end of the bargain.
Getting Lowry was always a gamble. And it was a gamble that failed.

That's literally not true. He had a lot of interest around the league. We just happened to be the best fit for him.
