Kings 176-175 Clippers. 2nd highest scoring game ever!

Post#1 » by SUPERVILLAIN » Sat Feb 25, 2023 6:29 am

Unbelievable game! They went to overtime tied at 153. Sick shot-making exhibition. Hell of a game by De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk and Kawhi Leonard.

With 5 minutes left in regulation the shooting was:

Clippers 64/65/91 (68/71/88 without Westbrook’s shooting)
Kings 62/48/81

Highest scoring game in under 210 shots ;)

No joke though that’s one of the best games ever. Wasn’t even bad defense the offense was just insane for both teams.

Would have ended in regulation if Kings knew that you don't have to defend Westbrook near the 3 point line.

If you want a good laugh about the defense tonight, watch Westbrook and Powell play defense that let Monk get the game tying 3 to send it to OT. Westbrook basically decided he wasn’t going to play D, and Powell decided he needed to help Kawhi near the paint instead of guarding for the game tying 3.

Tbf that’s a fairly normal play when a guy is driving by his opponent and you’re in a zone he wasn’t that out of position there between being help defense at the ring or switching out to the 3 point line.

I know what you mean though, bad awareness specifically up 3 just let him take the layup. I reckon it was more not understanding the score situation which happens quite often with players. Needed to be glued to Monk on the 3 line given the score rather than playing a usual defensive play.

By Westbrook standards, this was a great game from him.

So they got the “good” version of him tonight.

That game was amazing.

Many twists and turns.

Sacto didn't get many favors from the refs, I thought, but they kept fighting and came back a number of times.

Liked how Russ looked.

Kawhi was beasting for much of the game.

Malik Monk went ham.

Lot of fun.
