He had to do the foul from there on out. I couldn't believe we just stood there and let him stay hot like that. Norm was guarding him too

Those two turnovers killed us. Why is Westbrook here when he is still bringing the ball up the court.

Just don't have him bring the ball up the court and then try and play-make. He has such a shaky handle for that and he can't make passes under pressure, but Ty keeps going to this setup for god-knows-why.

It's horrible you have Kawhi, Russ, Powell, I would take 5 other guys bringing up the ball over PG.

This has been happening for seasons (plural) and everytime it fails because of a boneheaded PG play, the camera always shows Ty's irked face, but it keeps happening. I think it's a managerial move to keep PG interested/feeling involved.

He's a great player, he's just so frustrating to watch. We need to stop highlighting his weaknesses with our playcalling... Ty needs to.

I remember he complained that Doc used him more for a spot up shooter role. I'm no Doc fan but I'm thinking that he was on the something now.

it seemed pretty clear his impact was going to alter mann and gordon's minutes. by how much? well, by a LOT more than i thought. i mean i joked that lue would play him 39mpg for the rest of the season and he had 39 tonight. i also "joked" in another thread mann would be put back to 15mpg role player duty. and he got 17 tonight. in a game with TWO OVERTIMES. and i put joked in quotations because i wasn't really joking.
lue was going to lessen the minutes of the guys who have made tremendous impact on the team. all that paul george dumpster fire passing and ball handling and playmaking stuff went out the window with gordon/bones taking up space in the second unit and gordon becoming the de facto crunch time PG.
but this time around paul george went back to being the selfish "playmaking" d-wad he's been all season, even in the scant time he shared with mann on the court. mann/gordon were not prioritized as the ballhandlers. to me, this team is actually really good when paul george doesn't have to handle the ball or pass it. but if westbrook is taking the minutes of the guys who de-tasked him from those duties, what's the point, even? we're just back to square one. this team is basically just gonna spin its wheels again like it has all season, because kawhi's going to go off, then go to the bench, paul george is gonna scheme his way into think he's lebron and start throwing the ball ALL over the place, and lue's gonna just sit there and watch, as gordon/mann watch silently from the bench.
20 more games of this stuff that we had straight up already SOLVED, until paul george had to open his god damn mouth and put us right back where we were.
20 more games. can't wait

i recall this as well. he seemed to think he was above being a ray allen type.
well i mean guess what, paul george? ray allen was a superstar who checked his ego so he could win, and he won a lot.
this is my own speculation but i'm guessing paul george went to lue and said "i wanna be the MAN so let me handle the ball" and lue acquiesced. up to this point i pretty much thought it was lue trying to develop him as such, but after seeing paul george manipulate the organization into signing westbrook, i now think that whole thing could have been the other way around. i mean why else is he now trying to be the playmaker of the second unit again?
send this guy off in the offseason, imo.

Oh well, on to the next one. Amazing and fun game otherwise, and a masterclass from Kawhi.
Still a couple things we can do to get better.
