Maxey has a much narrower path to being a good player. That's a big part of the reason why Barnes went 4th in his draft and Maxey 21st. This is a bad criticism of Maxey.

Ben Simmons also had a wide path to be a star, even though he is not, what's your point? Maxey's talent is mediocre, Barnes has much higher talent, and their level of play reflects that, when you have negative RPM playing alongside Embiid and Harden, you are the problem.

We couldn't beat the Hest without Embiid last playoffs and now it looks they are going to loose double digits to bucks without Giannis when we needed them to beat them for the standings. Go figure.

Atleast it looks like the cavs will loose to hawks

My post on page 39-40.

Monk scored 45pts v Kawhi 44.

Thats the goal of the league, parity that you can still win with multiple non-star to low tier scorers vs top tier star scorers.

While the top tier scorers has to keep pushing towards scoring 50-60pts then 60-70 pts.

Nets got destroyed by the Bulls. Now we’re seeing the real Nic Claxton, when he’ s not propped up by KD/Kyrie.

Oh the GB made it seem like he was the next greatest center when he had that good game against Embiid.

He's a great defensive center, you just need to look at his numbers.

I don't understand how he can be carried by Kyrie on defense either. It's fine if we hate the Nets but really?

Claxton was never going to carry a team. He was just a better option than Ben at C.

Why would anyone here hate the Nets? We have no history there, all they’ve done is help us. I’m just making an observation.

Claxton is an above average defensive center who was getting a lot of talk about making a leap offensively. I don’t see that to be the case.

Claxton sucks. Just a skinny dweeb who is a quick jumper that blocks a lot of shots. He can't guard anyone in the post and would be eaten alive by any post scorer in a playoff series.

He has the best defensive plus-minus in the league among centers

Have him blocked so i dont' know the joke

Still, is not that complicated, his impact per 100 possessions on defense is better than other centers. I don't think is the be all end all and defense is complicated to measure, yes. Still better than using stuff like vorp to say Jokic is a good defender.

If that's the goal of the league, it is slowly but surely cutting its throat. Success of sports leagues requires superstars - the casual fan couldn't care less about 'competitive balance'.
