Don't be such a negative and a downer lol. Marcus is 6'8" and he is plus+5. He does little but he doesn't give up cheap baskets on defense and hits his shots. He is totally adequate.

Adequate is good.

Going to have to disagree with you on this one brother. What is the point of being 6'8" if you don't rebound? His offense is nice when hot but we have so many offensive weapons now

Hey, I am on record as being the biggest Marcus hater here for 3 years at least.

But he has been adequate lately and was ok tonight. And Batum just had his best game in two months. They're our only guys 6'8" or above to fill the 4. Mann had another nice game tonight but just don't tell me he can take their place.

Apples and oranges.

Ty Lue is the biggest disappointment of the season so far. There are some WTF decisions with mostly understandable ones. But there is not a single time wow this is aces decision from him.

We score 175 points with a playmaker debut day and newly Center(his 3rd game with us i guess) in the starting lineup. Nonetheless great performances all around but it feels like non of it thanks to Lue's coaching.

Lots of no closeouts, slow returns, ball watching on defense kept the young Sacto alive, and T. Lue put every 30+ years old veterans to the court in a game against the team with fastest pace. Simply one of WTF decisions day from him.

This was not about winning the game. This was the first game of playoff preseason and Ty gave 9 players a good look. And Zu makes 10.

This was an audition. Pretty much everybody did well except Eric Gordon, whose minus-16 is quite concerning. But it's early yet.

And the Kings played their best game of the 21st century lol. We played with not only two new starters but they had a combined 2 whole games with the Clippers before tonight. They both put up double-doubles. Not bad.

As the years go by, I find myself increasingly grateful for that G6 collapse against the Rockets. No matter how absurd the losses have been since then, they just haven't hurt the same. I've also learned to always expect the absolute worst, which also helps soften any blows.

Thank you, Clippers!

powell's been badass all season but i thought tonight he was the opposite.

unfortunately, since the FO made its bed by not getting rid of morris at the deadline and by falling for paul george's con job, we can very clearly see we have a coach who will play namesake over merit in the absolute wrong situations.

i mean it would have been one thing if we picked up westbrook and then morris played 10 minutes, westbrook 25, and gordon and mann were given another 12 minutes each because they are GOOD players who help the team do GOOD things. but, that didn't even remotely happen.

the wrong guys got to eat, the right guys starved, and the whole team suffered.

go, clippers, btw!

Should've fouled and sent them to the line to shoot two when we were up three with seconds to go. If you're confident to let them shoot then put your best defenders in the game. He had Norm in there guarding Monk instead of Mann.. smh. Also the parts where Sabonis killed us when we went small on nearly every possession. PG f*cked up royally but why was he reverting to playing point all over again when the team brought Russ in for him and Kawhi? I don't give a f*ck I'm running Moussa at the five for a few minutes instead of Morris if it really came down to it.

Lame excuse. When we're stuck in the play-ins again, we're going to wish the second-worst coach in the league cared more about winning games than "playoff preseason."

Also on PG for choking yet again in another big game, and for once again refusing to change the way he plays after demanding certain players. Time for the front office to start thinking about trading him.

I'm ashamed to admit that each time you call him "the second-worst coach in the league", it takes me a few too many seconds to figure out who's ahead of him, despite the signature being right there in plain sight.

I don't get the Westbrook move, I think the Clippers needed to add a big man if anything. They were rolling with Mann, relegating him to a bench role isn't smart.

Really tough loss. Would of been a great win out of the ASB with Russ'. Fox and Monk were insanely good. Kawhi was fantastic.

Russ looked good overall, definitely should help the team routinely.

Looking forward to the Denver game. Should be pretty wild too.

This was one of the greatest games in NBA history. We fielded yet another pickup team and only lost by 1. It was the greatest game in Sacramento Kings history this century and surely in their top 10 of all time.

I enjoyed it tremendously. I will never understand fans who only look for somebody to blame. Tonight was a statement game for the Sacs; for us it was a Ty's first experiment with his new roster, with 2 of them starting for the first time.

We play the Kings again on March 3. Zubac will be back. Empty your diapers, people.

Denver on Sunday. I like our chances.

5 teams before us, 5, five. They all tried thinking they could incorporate Westbrick into their system, and failed.
But somehow Ty thought where others failed, he'd succeed?
Not even Pop would undertake this project called Westbrook.
I lost all hope when Ty at the press conference said "Were gonna let Russ be Russ"
I mean WTF? Let Russ be Russ? We're rolling along nicely, heading into the playoffs and finally we've a great combo of veterans and young dudes who were ready to ball, but here comes Russ?
And, we're gonna let Russ be Russ? Double WTF?
Talk about regressing. We've gone from starting Mann who played phenomenal and incorporating Bones into the second unit to THIS?

A shorthanded Suns team without KD beat the Kings by double digits the week before. Westbrook's performance is fool's gold.

While the book is still out on Russ, I don't think we lost because of him.

Situationally, we let them snatch victory (or at least OT) from the jaws of defeat with a series of crushing turnovers, not just ending our possessions but giving them 2 or 3 layup line type baskets. IIRC the worst offenders were the Paul George turnovers. Plum had 2 bad TO's in a row in OT as well, but they weren't game-swinging.

We also let Malik Monk outplay Kawhi Leonard, which is saying a lot considering how well Kawhi played overall. Kawhi looked a bit gassed in the end (not his fault), Malik wasn't. I say 'let' because at the worst moments when the game was on the line he got open looks and drilled them.

Outside of those 2 huge factors, Paul George minus 2 of those horrific game-changing turnovers is perhaps the man of the night with 34/10/5 and only 2 turnovers (again, hypothetically minus the 2 horrific, absolutely game-changing mistakes.) But we know how this story goes (not always but often enough.)

I think we might be the most manic-depressive team board on RealGM (the Clipper subreddit is like this too.) I don't mean it as a criticism, I think this reflects our very tenuous hopes in the team. We're fearful of the worst, but we still dare to hope for the best- that's why our game threads routinely go 6-7+ pages. As a team you want your fans to be passionate, and if nothing else we are that.

I agree, outside of PG's two idiotic turnovers at the worst part of the game, our stars showed up big time in this. This is on Lue as he has to see this victory through for the team. Can't play Morris all those minutes and have him play the five spot in small ball. Can't let Monk shoot and not foul him plus have on of the worst defenders on him in Powell. And how you give the guy, TMann, that has busted his azz for this team a million times only 17 minutes in a double OT game?? That alone has me heated! Ok he's not starting but yet he still was "that guy" even coming off the bench for this team. I hope he's pissed, outraged, and lets these f*ckers know who and what he is. He's earned that right1

We lost this game because our brilliant head coach, once again put PG in a position to fail, by continuously having him bring the ball up and initiate the offense, DURING CRUNCH TIME. Maybe he thought the game was over and we are about to sub in our garbage time squad.

The problem with Ty Belichick is he's stubborn as rock, just like our last head coach. He doesn't learn from his mistakes. He thinks PG is a point forward like Lebron and Grant Hill. Expect to see more PG running the point in crunch time, oh and MMSr the rebounding machine, getting mins while RoCo becomes a fossil on the bench.

Even though Russ had 7 turnovers, I'm satisfied with his Clips debut. He did a lot of the stuff I was hoping he'd do.

The real killer was the repeated mental collapses at the end with all the consecutive turnovers (PG handling the ball yet again, sloppy passes), and letting Monk go off. Man I was sick of him mean mugging after every damn 3. This was a statement game, but Clips gonna Clip...

What a game! So many things to love and hate. Everyone here has already brought up everything so not much else to add.
Did hate the substitution after Russ fouled out. Obviously should’ve been Mann instead of Gordon. At first I thought he got up accidentally but no it really happened
