The Sixers can hang with them and lose in the end. In their most recent game they were depleted and Tatum scored only 12 points and the Sixers were beaten convincingly. Tonight you had the expected game between them when both teams are at full strength -- a hard-fought one in which Boston's elite players win it in the end.

That's what happened tonight, and that's what'll happen in the playoffs. This team won't win in Boston, and it'll have trouble winning at home just like it did tonight. If they can get by the Bucks they'll lose 4-2 to Boston. They don't have the mettle to win in Boston, and they don't have the players to beat them consistently at home.

That was a statement game by Boston in a weekend night game everybody was watching -- we're better than you, and we'll beat you on your own floor.

Correct. I honestly dont understand the takes by some people on here that normally know better are suddenly drinking the cool aid. We have lost 4 straight to the Celtics where is the proof exactly that we can beat them in a seven game series without homefield advantage. For me to believe something I need to see proof lol. Our starters plaid tons of minutes tonight too Embiid and Harden both at least 40. What are we going to play every starter 40-44 minutes in the playoffs lol. The Celtics are clearly better no shame in that but the facts are the facts!

I may not be the most astute when it comes to basketball, but do the Sixers ever run any set plays? The only one I saw was for an inbound pass.

Every time down the court they just look lost.

It would help if you were correct. We went 2-2 against them last year and the last game against them last year they humiliated us at home by like 40. This is our fourth straight loss against the Celtics. Why would you continue to gin up the benefit of the doubt for this team they don't deserve it. Have you every played competitive league sports? You know when a team is better then you and has your number and it makes it very tought to beat them. You actually saw that tonight. The Celtics were playing horrible and down 13 and they decided we are going to win this game. And they did! The Sixer record against the Celtics with Jaylen Brown, Horford, and Tatum is horrific. The Sixers should have those three guys names tatoo'd on there rears. I'm not trashing the Sixers they are a really good team maybe the 3rd or 4th best in the league. Unfortunately there are two great teams at the top of there conference.

The one blowout game wasn't the true Sixers since it was right after the Harden trade and they didn't have their whole roster together so that doesn't count.

Very Philly way to loose with Boston.
Also our bench sucks.

Exactly. A lot of overreactions to a 3 game sample size. There have been times when a team got swept in the season series, only to win in a playoff matchup over 7 games. It's not like we lost by 20 points last night.

It's a loser mentality. This franchise and fan base is filled with losers from top to bottom. Bunch of quitters, I'm not from Philly but even I at my most modest being a loser myself can see the culture for what it is.

After a game like this, it looks like Isiah Joe would have been the best shooter on this team.

I know it’s risky. But why doesn’t embiid guard the in bounder to cut off more angles with his length. The risk is the lane becomes open for a cutting Celtics player. But with Tatum all the way in the backcourt. There is less chance of this happening to have a cutter.

It’s a game of chess out there. You gotta mix things up defensively. That’s the only thing I would have done on defense differently.

Well no surprise really, the best player in the league showed up in the end of the game.

The Celtics runs to end the 3rd and in the middle of the 4th really came on transition. The Horford run was mostly transition finds or early offense secondary fastbreaks from early penetration. Gimmicky really, and when it was figured out 76ers got back into it. Then they just got tired and allowed a lot of early offense, Williams fastbreak. The last Horford 3 wasn't even on Joel, he was PJ Tucker's assignment. So I wouldn't be too concerned with the matchup with their spacing... Rather than the matchup it's just effort and awareness.

I think overall the Sixers matchup well defensively with multiple guys that can defend their best players.

I think the concern is Philly's offense vs their defense and how to generate more. Harden, Tobi, Maxey.... You need more (though Tobi performed). If Niang doesn't hit a 3 in the first half, then he becomes a situational guy in the playoffs second half or an entire series. You could play more Melton with the bench, and Tucker at 5 (which he did in the 2nd half). That would work well with McDaniels in the playoffs

Harden not good enough, Maxey as putrid as usual, you won't win like that, Embiid can't do more really.

I'm not the one that keeps loosing against my biggest rivalry despite " going all in and looking to go deep" lol

No, you're the insecure ones that think Joel should leave us because we're not good enough for him.

Loser ****.

It's the truth though, Sixers have failed Embiid way too many times, terrible drafting, terrible signings (except Harden), choosing Bum Simmons over Jimmy Butler, etc.
He deserves much better and nobody should be mad if he decides to leave.

More loser, inferiority complex bull ****.

They've got one of the best rosters in basketball in spite of their multiple **** ups. He should leave because it's not the best roster in the entire NBA?

He's got enough to win. There should be no passes given in the scenario of him choosing to leave.

And it's loser talk to even be going down that path right now as a fan.

lol I guess we differ in opinion about what "loser sh*t" is . I'm a Sixers fan first but I'm also a Embiid fan. Embiid doesn't seem like the type of guy who is content with being 3rd or 4th best (loser ****) and I'm sure he doesn't like the "2nd round exit" tag. He's not Lillard who's content with being the best player on a non contender team. I want the big guy to have a legit chance to win it all and the roster is still too flawed. Sixers management and prior moves lowered the ceiling of how talented this team could of been.

This team at its best is clearly not better than the Celtics or Bucks. Two teams in the way of them winning a chip and the sixers don't really have any pieces or chess moves left to make another jump. It's called being realistic sorry not sorry if that bothers you.

Oh stop. They've got what? The 5th best odds of winning the title? Celtics and Bucks are better so he should just throw in the towel and join who?

It would be a loser move for him to ask out, and it's a loser move to think he should, or even be talking about it right now.

This is the best team he's ever had around him, and it's the best shot we've had at a title since... Before I was alive? Stop being scared of what could happen and get in the **** fox hole!

It's ok, you are biased too because you are a Sixers fan first, which is ok but Sixers failed Embiid and that is a fact.
