Agreed. When you hear about those games and look at some of the stats as well as some highlights. Only makes you want to watch the games themselves.

Yea it's a shame the NBA wasn't especially popular back then, really wish we had more footage of a lot of these older legends.

It's a part of equation, but another thing is that the league doesn't want us to see more footage, which they definitely have.

A lot of those games seemed like track meets which imo would make them exciting to watch. I like to see some 60-61 stl hawks with prime Pettit and Hagan and rookie Lenny Wilkens at point guard.

There's also some complete games from the 70s that I would like to see that you can't find on YouTube. Some early 70s Celtics with young and prime Cowens vs the likes of Kareem and Wilt.

I don't know, it is how I see this situation after a few tries to contect the league.

This is only a faction of the full games I know the NBA has of Wilt and West

Unlisted game of Wilt vs Baylor in the early 1960's

game 5 of Wilt vs Nate in 1969 in which Wilt blocked 10 shots

1969 WCF vs Hawks not sure which game through.

Game 5 of the 1967 ECF in which Wilt had 29 points, 36 rebounds, 13 assists and blocked 7 shots.

1968 vs Suns in which Wilt blocked 23 shots.

1971 Game 7 vs Bulls.

games 1 through to 6 of the 1972 WCF.

Games 1 and 2 plus 5 of the 1971 WCF.

Games 6 3,4 of the 1969 finals.

Games 3 and 4 of the 1972 finals.

Game 3 and game 4 of 1970 finals

In Baylor's video at the 1.12 mark you can see the original broadcast of game 3 of the 1969 finals.

While in West's video you see him with his hamstring heavily wrapped up in game 6 of the same series at 3.06 and his game winner at the end of game 4 of the 1972 finals in which Wilt sets a pick for him.

The NBA archives have clearly remastered most of their older footage of the 70's and 60's

As you can clearly see they have done a lot of work of Wilt's footage on the 76ers and Laker years.

at the 1.07 mark of that video is believe the touch-up they did of Wilt's games vs Russell.
Reggie Jackson is amazing and a killer in the clutch that's all.

I wonder if there is any other way to get something specific out of the league archives. I won't be able to do much alone, but maybe we could work out something together, but it has to be very specific thing.

Personally, I'd ask for something we are sure that exists and I like the Sixers vs Knicks matchup from 1965/66 season as a nomination - it includes a lot of great players from very poorly representated season and it can gives us a very important piece of information - how Wilt played in Philly before Hannum came in.
