This isn’t exactly a great endorsement. So far he hasn’t destroyed the team because he has been DECENT, but even his decent play hasn’t translated to wins yet. Which is also standard for Russ’s career in a nutshell. The ultimate stat padder.

The team was -12 when he was on, yes, but no player is +/- anything on their own. The Clippers starters started the game poorly, the bench had to get them back in.

The starters +/-
Russ -12
George -18
Leonard -10
Morris -17
Plumlee -15

It would be different if they were all positive except for him, meaning his minutes with them were poor and maybe one says it was holding them back based on observation (though for one game it could simply be variance in shooting for either team that causes that).

Where did the Clipper defense fall of a cliff?

Clippers really missing Zubac right now. Plumlee has played well, but the power forward rotation for the Clippers is hot garbage starting with Marcus Morris.

Clippers took the 3 seed to 2OT and the 1 seed to OT without Zubac and a new starting point guard in Westbrook.

And both games were still winnable if it wasn't for some bad turnovers by Paul George and Lue 's poor coaching decisions in crunch time

Their biggest mistake was giving him the starting role right away instead of having him earn it.

Now when they realize Mann is better and ask WB to come off the bench he'll turn hostile just like on the Lakers.

Everyone can see through those fake smiles lol

how can it be a steal when the player makes any team he's on worse. and this comment has nothing to do with their 0-2 start. it's just a fact with Russ.

I think the only way to effectively play Westbrook on a winning team would be like how NFL teams run RBs into the ground that are in contract years.

You gotta play him heavy minutes in quarters 1-3 and bench him the 4th. Let him run the show when Kawhi and PG are resting.

But Westbrook would never accept that role

I'd say it was less about Westbrook and more about Ty Lue's rotations. He is still having PG facilitate alot. Many don't realize how bad PG is at that role and worse he does it at times when Westbrook is in the game.

Also he is insistent on playing Morris big minutes when he is useless on defense. Dude is consistently getting blown by and it's a miracle when he has more than 2 rebounds despite being 6'8". You have options like Batum, Mann and Roco who offer a little less offense for better defense.

I must say with all honesty. It is truly a pleasure to watch Russ on another team. Zero confidence in his play when he had the ball in Laker land. Thank you basketball God's for removing him from the Lakers roster, I can now watch LeBron and AD operate with real spacing

Thing is Lue, like Rivers is a players coach and I think teams with stars like the Leonards/Georges or Durants and Jameses are afraid that if they don't always get players coaches that they'll tune other coaches out or ignore them. I can't see the Clippers going away from Lue unless its for another coach who was a recent player(00s and up) in the league.

Should sign Rajon Rondo, he shot .397 downtown last season for Cavs, and 4.9 assists in just 19.4 minutes per game....

This is not a jab at Russ’s career accomplishments but I don’t think this is a good sign for Clips fans. Russ having a couple good games early on will only prolong the Westbrook experiment. I guess we’ll see…

I think things will work out great. Actually it looks better than I thought it would.

If they can get 15-20 minutes from Bones per night, that would also be big.

No one beats full-health Denver in Denver. So I can't fault the Clippers there. And they're missing Zubac.

The Sacto games was one of the most insane games in NBA history. Clips had it and blew it. It happens.

The Clips desperately needed a real point guard. Russ is that. If he stays in his lane, he can help immensely IMO.

OH, well as long as you think things will work out great I'm sure everything will be fine.

Clippers loss last night had more to do with Lue playing Morris and Gordon down the stretch over Batum and Powell/Mann than anything
