Tie. Not surprised. Both are 96 / 100

Embiid for sure. He’s a top five player in the league.
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

I want Embiid to finish higher, but I expect Luka to do so. I have doubts about Embiid postseason profile, even though I am aware of his high +/- numbers.

If assuming health, I think Embiid, though close. Big if though.

I voted Embiid. I think he has a better chance of going deep in the playoffs.

Why does Luka not show up all that well in +/- stats? I feel like it's been a trend across his entire career to date.

I think how him and kyrie look together to end the season will be very telling, since if it doesn't work, that's the 3 all starish calibre players who haven't exactly flourished next to luka.

Just curious, how have Harden/Ben Simmons/Jimmy Butler/Tobias Harris flourished next to Embiid more than these three?

I think Harden does surprisingly well and Butler did great next to Embiid. Simmons less so, Harris isn't an all-star level player.

To be fair, I disagree that Brunson struggled next to Luka - they were quite successful together.

That's what I am saying, Brunson did very well and Kyrie is less than a month in...KP's case was really that he could not stay healthy so the team could not get all together

Seriously?

Ben Simmons & Joel Embiid 2018: +15.3
Ben Simmons & Joel Embiid 2019: +7.8
Ben Simmons & Joel Embiid 2020: +0.8
Ben Simmons & Joel Embiid 2021: +15.9

Jimmy Butler + Joel Embiid 2019: +8.5

James Harden + Joel Embiid 2023: +9.7

Ben Simmons is a mental headcase, he has clear limitations offensively as a basketball player [more so now than before]. However, he was still a non-floor spacing ball-handler and multiple seasons achieved a massive Net-Rating while sharing the court with Embiid.

Jimmy Butler joined the same team in 2019 and while the team had major spacing issues and locker room issues, the team was 1 bounce on the rim away from beating the Toronto Raptors.

As for Harden with Embiid, they have been dynamic this season together.

The numbers are all good and nice but what do they translate into?
Ben Simmons was #1 pick, all*, all-nba, all-D, big part of the "process" vs. KP all* before joining Mavs and never healthy; now at least KP is still playing;
Jimmy and Brunson both had success - Jimmy was all-nba before and after 76ers, except when he was; Brunson has never been one and he started as a 2nd round #3 pick playing with Luka; 76ers and Mavs lost both for nothing, not really players' fault
We don't have to argue who is better, Harden or Kyrie, and can let the story pan out.
