GT #61: Bullets @ Hawks 7:30 PM (NBCSW/980 AM) [2/28/23]

YOUR Washington Bullets are 28-32!

Losers of two in a row since the All-Star break, they continue their road trip to Hotlanta on Tuesday night.

The Bullets got manhandled and blown away in the 4th quarter by the Bulls on Sunday. No Porzingis and no Morris took more 3-point shooting threats off the floor and the Bulls perimeter defenders were able to lock down the Bullets. Kyle Kuzma had perhaps his worst game as a Bullet.

On Tuesday, the Bullets play the ATL Hawks for the first time this season which is hard to believe. This will be the first of four matchups between the division rivals through April 5th. This game was supposed to be broadcast on national TV on TNT but was just dropped for Lakers-Grizzlies.

The Hawks fired Nate McMillan last week. And rumors are abound that Trae Young was the driving force in another black coach getting fired in ATL. John Collins remarked that Mr. Sonic's approach wasn't effective with young players.

And now Quinn Snyder has just been hired to lead the Hawks for the rest of the season and into the near future as the team's next head coach.

The Hawks are coming off a big win against the Nets.

Bullets tank is back on, I assume Porzingis misses this game. Also, Washington has not won in Atlanta since December 5, 2018.

LET THE TANK ROLL!!!!

Are they subtly tanking? No, they can not be that smart...can they?

Maybe the tank is all part of the plan.

- Rui was traded to the Lakers - the Lakers will use their prayer/will to get the Wizards will get the #1 pick
- Adam Silver may be impressed by the Wizards will to recreate an international governing body by drafting Rui, Deni. Always having at least one Lativian on the roster (Bertans/KP). Having a spokesperson from Taco Bell (Johnny Davis)
- Perhaps Victor wants to come to DC especially when he heard about how great Leonsis was from Ian Mahinmi

Our rebounding has kept us in the game, especially our offensive boarding. Lead 20-11 there.

Wes in desperado mode with a 3 guard line up and Kispert at the 4…I really want him gone in the off-season. Meanwhile, let him lead the Tank..

So much for the tank. Beal was great from start to finish. Gafford with the huge blocks on Young. Atlanta is soft as Charmin. No real power forward. You can have John Collins. He's a dog, not a dawg. Only the Wiz would give up two great looks to Trae at the end, but they found a way.

Y'all still think that we are better with Brad on cruise control? This Brad is the only way we can get to the next level

Sure. If Beal can average 37 points and 7 assists per game on a 60% TS% with only 2 turnovers, then yeah, he should do so.

The problem is, that’s not realistic. Beal was really on this game and played well, but that doesn’t mean he will score efficiently every night. Beal has never been able to maintain his current level of efficiency on a USG significantly above 30%.

Beal had to go “2019 mode” tonight because KP was out. It’s great to see that he can still take on high usage when he needs to. But most of the time, he doesn’t need to put up 30 shots and he would hurt the team if he did so. I think Beal has done a real good job all season of figuring out when to blend in and when to take over.

Agreed. I like lower usage Beal. Unfortunately, we balance that with Uber usage, highly inefficient Kuz.

Beal is having a good year, when he plays. I just wish he didn’t take plays off as often as he does.
