So what I’ve noticed this season is something I’m sure he’s learned from Rob, but Tatum has gotten REALLY good at doing a controlled tap of the rebound to a teammate. He gets plenty of uncontested rebounds of course, but there’s quite a few in heavy traffic.

This goes beyond just Tatum. I think it's organizational philosophy to tip the rebounds to a teammate when they're in traffic.

Below average TS% in December and February.



He was rightfully in the MVP convo first couple of months but has since fallen off imo. Now just a tier below Giannis/Embiid/Jokic. Still a lock for All-NBA.

Bright side: assist % and A:TO trending up per month.

I'm assuming that, despite the wrist being a factor in his shooting struggles, the medical team figures that resting it for a game or two won't really make things significantly better until Tatum gets the wrist surgically repaired.

So despite the declining 3P%, he continues to take them at a high volume because (a) his wrist is more at risk from taking hits during drives to the rim, and (b) refs allow too much uncalled contact against his lane incursions to make it worth the trouble, more often than not.

If he can stay healthy, he’ll end up among the top scorers of the game all-time. Impressive already considering he wasn’t a go-to guy for his first 2.5 seasons.
