Issue is not in the amount of 3pt shots he takes, as he's not likely to connect on them anyway, but that teams do not defend him further than FT line. Him taking 10 3pt shots a game is not gonna change that, teams will gladly give him that shot as he'll just ruin our offense furthermore by shooting them at 25% rate.
True. What I'm saying is he's got to get his midrange form out to the 3 where he can get it off faster and at a higher %. What happens if he uses his midrange form out at the 3? Does 1-2 feet of distance really make a difference? Is it something like he'll have to sit out a b2b if he uses his midrange form at the 3 or more drastic like he'll break down 20 games into the season? We've seen him use his midrange form with a foot on the 3 point line - not sure why can't just move back an extra foot.
When we actually start making a push to win, our FO will have to tell him to fix it. We're not building around him as the centerpiece - he has to be supplemental to Franz and Paolo. If he can't find a way to get defenders to play on him tight to open up lanes for Paolo and Franz, he'll be gone.
I don’t think it is distance related. More off the dribble vs spot up. His free throw is the same as his 3 pointer.
It's gotta be distance related too. If he can do his midrange shot off a stepback, why can't he do the same from 3? He's attempted a couple stepback 3s this season and they don't look at all like his midrange.

It seems like TOS coincidentally kicks in right at 22 feet.

Obviously the coaching staff and FO know what's going on. I'm saying they also know that a modern NBA team can't be successful with more non-space creators than space creators on the floor. So someone's gonna have to tell Fultz that he's going to have to do something to get defenders to guard him out to the 3 in order to keep his starting position with Paolo.
