Are the Grizz doomed

Post#1 » by GrindCityHustle » Wed Mar 1, 2023 10:46 pm

We are hated by the media and Shannon Sharpe.

Klay Thompson trolls us

Ja Morant is dead talented but I would trade him for Dame Lillard no questions asked. He has this persona that just doesn't fit well in the modern NBA for some reason.

We go on long win streaks then go on long loosing ones.

Besides my trade idea that would never happen what needs to fall in line to get respect again.

At our core it seems like we will always be ran like a small market team even when have a window to really compete. Similar to Indiana when they are good.

No your not doomed but I do think you need to give Ja another star if you wanna make noise in the playoffs

Alot of players have been hated, Ja just needs to make them shut up by winning and he needs to get his act together.

But yeah Ja is def in the wrong era for sure. He has that 90's dog in him

Stop worrying about what people say and think and just play hard.
My opinion may not be your opinion or their opinion but I have it.

No you are not doomed lol

But I believe Ja's peak is sooner than later, and it would be wise to try to capture a championship now as opposed to trying to sustain a 5-8 year window of contention that they seem to have in mind. Go all out, get a ring now. They offered 4 FRP for Bridges? Maybe offer more. They are close. I think you would've been the favorite with Bridges.

At this point I am not sure if Ja is better than Brunson besides scoring. Brunson might be a Chris Paul career while Ja is Deron Williams.

I don't think so, just a bit out of control. Need some veteran leadership in there. Maybe even just shipping Brooks out will help. The Ja-Brooks dynamic is giving me Jackson-Artest vibes.

You fans must tell the players a thing or two.
Their overall attitude is unacceptable for such a young team. No need to create all this hatred against themselves.
Acting as a villain is one thing. Being a moron is another. Some of these guys clearly don't see a difference.

Why would you trade Ja for Dame. Dame is 32 and has a few years left at most. Ja has 10 years left in his prime, Dame doesn't move the needle enough to become a championship team.

people grow up. Morant is a good kid, just been doing stupidity. One of these idiots he rolls is going to take years for him and it will change his whole outlook.

Because Ja is like Westbrook and his game won't age well.

Ja is better than Brunson. Brunson is just a better leader imo

I also do think Brunson game will age better. Ja is a little wreckless out there but i'll take Ja Morant over Brunson pretty easily

Good comparison but Brooks is canadian. I think he will have a lil more respect than walking into the stands and punching fans lol

Despite all of the distractions and missed games by their top guys the Grizzlies are still second in the West. They aren't close to doomed. They just need to trade Brooks and Ja needs to stop hanging out with Moneybagg Yo. They will be fine. Also, screw the media. They hate every team but the Lakers anyway.

Dame isn't going to age well either, small guards don't last long. He's got 2 years at best. You would trade a 23 year old hasn't entered his prime for a 32 year old who is close to the end of his prime?

They aren't doomed, but there's a cap on what they can do because their best player cannot shoot the three, over his last 30 games he's shooting 27% from three. When he doesn't have the ball nobody really honors him, and when when he does have the ball you can go under every screen. The whole bullrush your way to the basket works in the playoffs if the guy is like 6'6", and even then you need to be an ATG for that to work. If you can't shoot the three at his position you need an automatic mid-range jumper, like Fox has developed or like CP3.

i think if a coach had the support to bench ja if he doesn't commit to a professional team culture, he might fall in line. or if he played with someone that was clearly in a tier above him fame/money/trophy wise, he would start to emulate them.

Grizzlies are the 2nd youngest team in the NBA and yet they are second in the west with all their picks and cap space.

Fans and teams know they are up and coming so they are afraid trying to kill the pup before it becomes a pitbull.

Ja is getting fake hate articles almost every week.

JJJ got accused of stat padding

The rest of the team gets troll of regular basis.

This year they won't win it but in 2 or 3 years the are going to be top contenders.

The core is too brittle and they have off court issues. Until they get cleaned up they will remain in the pretender tier

Embiid is more hated than Morant, means nothing, you need to ignore stupid fans.

Besides, Jaren Jackson is the 7th best player in the NBA, while Morant is the 18th best player, so it's not like Morant is the soul of the team.
