I’d like to do a deeper dive into guards/ball handlers for the draft. But pretty sure the FO wants a wing/forward based on history

Good article on Dick

https://amp.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article272535351.html

“People will sometimes just see some offensive stuff from me,” Dick told The Star. “But I want to be remembered for how hard I played and trying to do everything I could to win.”

That's him saying that to a local newspaper, not trying to sell himself to an NBA organization. It shows in his gameplay because he does a lot of little things that positively impact games.

5th year transfer to the weak Summit conference. 7'3, I guess a later blooming Shawn Bradley.

He has a weird history of transferring to three different schools, and is currently at Oral Roberts which is the class of the Summit Conference. Vanover is shooting 35% from three on good volume (43/126); 60 TS%; 13 BLK% and is a career 80 FT%. He is going to be 24 on draft night but I am sure some team will take a long look at him. If he has no foot issues or injury red flags, he is worth a 2 way deal in the second round given the size, mobility and shooting track record.

He is teammates with Max Abmas, Oral Roberts prolific scorer who is like 6'0. Him and Vanover are quite the combo to watch. Watch out for Oral Roberts upsetting some team in the Tournament like they did in 2021 when they went to the Sweet 16.

Colby Jones and Souley Boum (undrafted 5 year senior potential) in action tonight. Boum lead CUSA in scoring last season as a senior. This season he's become more of a distributor, so a 6'3 combo guard off the bench. Dennis Schroder 2.0?

https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/the-court-report-how-xavier-senior-souley-boum-emerged-as-one-of-college-basketballs-most-valuable-transfers/

With Colby Jones vs Bryce Hopkins featured in the #19 Xavier vs #20 Providence matchup, right on queue Souley Boum played 19 mins and at the half has 19 points on 7 for 11 shooting (2 for 5 from deep).

Boum finished with 33 but Colby Jones got so hot and put up 29 points on 10 for 11 shooting and 3 for 3 from deep, with 4 assists and zero turnovers.

Keyonte George’s numbers awfully similar to Coby White’s number from college. Actually Coby’s number is more efficient

Cissiko was the guy I first liked going into this season because I assumed we're gonna pick somewhere in the middle of the draft. He started slow but he's been on one for like over a month now of 20+ppg, if some college prospect was doing that he'd be shooting up draft boards. I think I'm right back where I first started (before the tank start) and want us to draft Sidy...

I'd still be good with guys like Hendricks, Howard, Jackson etc...and of course would hope maybe Black, Wallace or Walker fall to us but short of that every time I see how he plays there's something about him that makes think Raps will love his overall versatility.

My thing is, if you’re an NBA team do you call Cissoko up from the G-League today? My answer would be yes. He and Scoot have earned that right. Mocks having him ranked in the late first round is blasphemy.

It's one game the guys below 10 ppg and shooting average percentages while being an older freshman. He's going to be undrafted.

He's gonna be average in he league at best. So many players in college way better than him

If its a white thing, wait for Cooper Flagg. That guy is actually the best american white guy since Bird

Spencer Ahrens is better than Flagg

Dick is going to be underwhelming at the next level. He doesn't have the explosiveness to beat guys and lacks above the rim play. Rupert is going to be better than him in five years and he should go before him.

Any Desmond Bane/Eric Gordon/Kyle Lowry/Jrue Holiday bulldog type guard in this draft that can shoot in the high .300s/.400 on three who can dribble penetrate and is a dog on defense. Keyonte George and Cason Wallace fits the bill, good shooters with tremendous motor especially George, these are the guys that should be in Masai's radar.

Yall know Jones has been by guy from day one. He is going to return lottery level value for the team that takes him. And I hope that team is us.

We desperately need to secure another late first rounder.

Saw stats for the wrong player. Jones is a third year player and isn't putting up amazing numbers, I'm not impressed and would rather gamble on potential. We have enough average players.

ha ha. You had to recover from that hot take to find another to trash him. Just admit you don't know the player.
