Never said it was the gauge on being good or bad and I'm not saying Giannis is bad either. I mentioned it as to show how much drop off effort wise he's had on that end. And like blocks and steals are pretty cool and him getting more would fuel our transition offense. Him being so low compared to the other elite guys (besides Bam I think) is kinda surprising.

His best chance for MVP is getting the “best player best team” votes so we need the number one overall record.

Nate and Danny just can’t help themselves. I think they have Giannis now at #5 and #6 on their MVP ballots. On this pod they hammered him for being an ‘inefficient’ scorer.

Holy **** that was one of the worst podcast ive heard. Just embarrassing for anyone considering themselves an expert to even come close to these takes.

Yea I usually don’t buy into the “media hates my team/player” stuff because every fanbase yells it all the time. But the Duncd on guys just cannot give the bucks credit for anything. It’s honestly bizarre and clearly personal behind the scenes, and it’s such a shame because they’re very knowledgeable about aspects of the nba other big podcast aren’t. I don’t even pay attention to them after not ranking the bucks organization high in that dumb ass ranking they had a while ago.

Listened to the first few minutes and they started talking about Embiid in the second tier and once I realized Giannis was not in their top 4, I turned it off. Shocking how much they rely on pure stats without any context.

It was incredible, wasn't it? You kept waiting for them to say Giannis, and they then put Lillard in ahead of him, along with Jokic, Embiid, Luka, Tatum, etc.

And once they got to Giannis, Nate starts rationalizing that he's not deserving because his shooting efficiency is down.

Nate is a damn smart guy, but man he's just got Bucks derangement syndrome. Again, I do think Alex Lasry probably broke him a couple years back.

Nate Duncan's a clown. Sorry, when you have this much of a visible agenda against a certain player/team, you've firmly planted your flag in the "Skip Bayless/Colin Cowherd" camp of basketball analysts. His opinions shouldn't be taken seriously.

I dropped them for good during the Bucks title run when they refused to even talk about their games then barely acknowledged them after they won. Before that they were part of my daily podcast run. Would really love to know the story behind Nate's hate.

He sounds like one of those guys who leans into playing the contrarian to go against the grain. I'm sure that every local sports market has a few of those.

Defense doesn't matter, only TS% does, lol.

In all honesty, Jokic is a very deserving candidate if he wins. My issue was with him getting it last season. And I love Jokic. My only annoyance is some people thinking that one player is "so far ahead" of everyone else.

I never trashed Jokic i always trash the media and the fans that go into stupid gospels that they use to wow the more casual fanbase.

Nobody gave a **** about Gobert having a 73% season on 15 ppg last year, nobody called him historic.

Jokic increase in TS by 4 % is explained by him taking 3 less shots, rebounding less and having overall less usage and yet somehow people on the internet try to argue that Jokic is better than prime **** Wilt Chamberlain because its OMG 70% TS. :noway:

HKPackFan wrote:One thing I hardly hear the guys who discuss MVP votes talk about, is how Giannis does everything with less minutes.

vs the nets: 33/15/4/1 in 28 minutes.
vs magic: 31/7/6/1 in 28 minutes.

Those are amazing stats in under 30 minutes!!

Luka is the #1 scorer in the league 33.2ppg he's at 36+ minutes a game, giannis is #4 31.3ppg but only 32+ minutes a game. I'm sure Giannis scoring average went down due to 2 injury games plus his minute average went down. But even before those injuries I'm sure he was well below Luka in minutes.

Dame is now ahead #3 scorer also 36+ minutes, Embiid #2 35+ minutes.

Not to get too obsessed with ppg, but I just think it's incredible what he does on a nightly basis where he often dominates in less than 30 minutes. I do think it gets overlooked.

Edit: Giannis is #60 overall in average minutes: 32.4. credit to Jokic he's only #43 33.6 min.

I could see MVP going either way, with voters leaning towards Jokic. Jokic numbers are crazy and he's leading the Nuggets to a #1 in the west.

Giannis numbers are also incredible and he's leading the Bucks to #1 overall (at the moment).

Jokic has the advantage of the TD stats.

I think next 20 games Giannis could still make an impression. Go off and get a W on Philly, keep the streak going to like 20+ while he dominates, he could make a case and even out the race.
2022-2023 Giannis is currently 4th all time in points/min behind MVP Giannis, MVP Harden, and 1 Wilt season.

And you argue that Giannis is the best passer since Magic. Your bias is your bias.

9 years ago, I got my signature.

http://grantland.com/features/milwaukee-bucks-giannis-antetokounmpo/

And so in Brew City — in the midst of the coldest winter in 30 years and the worst season in the history of the once-proud Bucks — the question is already being asked: Is Giannis the man who will save professional basketball in Milwaukee?

Emphatically: Yes.
