I will say, he clearly often thinks of what he’s going to do before he fully gets control of the ball. I’ve seen it so many times, he’s so ready to speed off to the basket that doesn’t make sure he has possession first.

He was probably dreaming of the winning dunk he was going to make ..

To finally be a hero for the Clips…. Tsk tsk..

As I said, this experiment will only work if;

1) he doesn’t start
2) he doesn’t close
3) limited minutes - for the bursts of
Energy when needed

Having said that, Clips are still in better shape than my lakers…. Aaargh..

Russ takes the blame for the turnover that cost the Clips the game. Good leadership. I don't think the play was his fault, but it's good to accept responsibility and not blame your teammates whatever the case may be.

I can't believe people are pinning the clippers struggles on Westbrook. He's been good in 3 of 4 games and isn't close to a star player at this point. Their struggles are on Kawhi and Paul George.

Nobody thinks if they cut Russell they are winning the title, but everywhere he goes he makes teams worse. He isn't their only problem, they are probably just above mediocre without him, but he's a massive drag on both ends. He is not a star player, that's the problem. He brings star amount of turnovers and bad shots without all the positives to outweigh them.

He's shooting over 50% from the field with them and has taken no more than 16 shots in a game. I don't think it's sustainable but he hasn't been taking a whole lot of bad shots with them and has been making a good clip of the ones he's taking.

Seriously though, the Westbrook hate is overdone. The dude isn’t what he once was, but he clearly loves basketball. He doesn’t load manage, demand trades, fake injuries, throw teammates under the bus, or beat up minors, and he gives it 100% every regular season game. It’s the coach’s and GM’s fault at this point.

There was 15 seconds left, right? How are they not looking to foul? Then there's the question of passing it to the corner instead and Batum (?) standing very much further away and all alone.

Damn are the Clippers really going to gift Houston a lottery pick because they went against all sound logic, common sense, basketball principles and signed Westbrook? I’m not a Russ hater at all, but everyone said this would happen. It made no sense to sign him and mess up team chemistry when you have Terrence Mann who was playing great and brought in Bones Hyland.

15s on the shot clock, 17.3s to play when Gordon made the pass. They both were wide open and RW was much closer, that was actually safer play than trying to get it to Batum.

Not to mention, it probably should have been a backcourt 8sec violation, Gordon was the only one who even tried to get open and get the ball.

Westbrook is simply not a guy you can win with. He’s fine on a tanking team. He can stat pad to his heart’s content. But on a team with expectations, he’s unplayable. You can’t win with a guy you cannot trust in the fourth quarter. Time after time he loses you games with his piss poor judgment.
