Re: Kendrick Perkins controversial comments on Jokic.
Why does anyone listen to anything coming out of the mouth of an ESPN employee?
There have been a grand total of 5 white MVPs in the last 37 years. Yet somehow, this is “racist” according to this idiot.

Video proof Jokic is now resorting to drawing up his own plays to stat pad. The guy has no shame.

Re: Kendrick Perkins controversial comments on Jokic.
Just a sad state of affairs. ESPN's coverage of the NBA is just embarrassing... but they can do whatever they want since TNT is only on 2 days a week. Perk is just bad and this take is ridiculous all around.
Another thing that I find sad is that these analysts don't even realize that the MVP is a regular season award. The amount of takes that reference a lack of post-season/championship success is just straight up dumb lol.
The willingness to overlook the fact that Jokic haled his team to the WCF and say he has no post-season success only to try and prop up Embiid over him is just hilarious.

If ESPN doesn't fire Perkins then it'll reveal that they really have no morals or principles at all.

ESPN (none of these major corporations) have a moral stance on anything. They’re just going to push whatever gets them the most clicks and views (revenue).
Long gone are the days with ESPN where their biggest names were the Sportscenter anchors. Where the most charismatic and entertaining people became the most popular. Those were the people that moved the needle for ESPN in the past.
With the Internet and YouTube, guys just talking about the highlights don’t move the needle anymore. It’s the ones that get trending on social media, the ones that get the clicks and interactions. And guys that make narratives like Perk is doing get the most clicks.
Think about Rachel Nichols, who was summarily fired for suggesting that a black girl was being favored at her expense because ESPN wanted to promote diversity. She's been black-balled from sports media ever since.
Now you have Kendrick Perkins, who's clearly suggesting that Nash, Dirk and Jokic are or were favored in MVPs because of their race and you haven't heard a peep out of ESPN yet. Interesting how double standards work.
Perkins is a moron and Jokic deserves MVP considerations this year and probably should win it but Nichols was out of line for saying what she said about a coworker. Taylor is a talented sportscaster herself and ESPN wasn't entitled to give the job to Nichols. She just assumed Taylor was given the job because she was black and that's that.
Kendrick Perkins isn’t an idiot. He knows exactly what he was doing because he knows he can get away with it. It’s way deeper than that though.
Every single person in here knows that if we play reverse the races that Perkins would be GONE in the same way Nichols is. But People think it ok because of how the media treats these issues.
The reason he can say those things is because Let’s be honest the left believe in deconstructing society because they believe that racism is only about power which is why you can have egregiously racist people say horrible things but because they aren’t perceived to be in “power” then it’s ok.
It’s really not about the race it’s about retuning power to specific group over another at the expense of the other group because they believe in reshaping “the system” it’s about undoing what’s perceived as a power hierarchy not about being morally good.
I don’t think Perk is thinking THAT deep about it but its why he can be a bigot on tv and face zero consequences. At worst they’ll say he got caught in a bad moment, he’ll say “sorry” shrug his shoulders and move on with life and Jokic, much like you just did, better just chalk it up as “Perk being Perk” because how dare he be offended which is total garbage.
At a pure human level NOBODY should be ok with this and if you truly believe that we shouldn’t malign groups then it should make zero sense to think that it’s ok.

"What do those 3 have in common?"
Gee, I dunno... Well-rounded games, maybe? No, THAT couldn't be it!

Zombiesonics wrote:Duke4life831 wrote:Like I’ve said in the MVP thread, Perk is hitting a HR at his job right now. Ever since Perk went on the stat padding and race narratives, ESPN’s videos and tweets about Perk and Jokic has been some of their most popular stuff.
People will sit and complain about this stuff, but then go on and click on the videos. They didn’t hire Perk to make hard hitting well thought out basketball takes. They hired Perk to get clicks and views. And so far, at least for the 2nd half of the NBA season, Perk has been ESPN’s MVP for their basketball coverage. The guy is most likely going to get a bonus or at minimum more air time because of this.
I'm so depressed by this. Celebrity voices reverberating through the culture with talking points acting as agents of chaos, in order to drive engagement. Its really disgusting times we live in. Ethically you can't get lower than what lots of MSM has sunken too; everyone is on a hunt for clicks and engagement.
Don't disagree, but they only do it because people in LARGE quantities give them the clicks and engagement. The moment the masses wise up....it stops.

Imagine being in the .001% of people that make it to the nba, make millions of dollars, only to be resentful of a guy that happens to win MVP deservedly only because he’s not your color.

Just goes to show Americans are obsessed with race. Throw in an incompetent administration headed by a vegetable as president and you get a decline of an empire. Its happening right before our eyes.

Your field of view is narrow my dude. The poster I quoted made a sweeping statement about NBA players & I responded in kind. I agree though, that in this case Perkins really puts emphasis on *** in his assessment. I also hold SAS responsible for this **** too, as he enables it and controls who comes on. ESPN is sadly disintegrating in my eyes, and as such hardly consume it ever.

But for all the Jokic crtitics the bottom line is the guy isn't winning championships. So, let the guy have his MVPs.
Until he win a chip he won't ever be seriously respected by the general public in America. So I don't even know why guys like
Perkins are so mad about.
He's still better than your favorite player and you know that is true
