From memory he had good grades prior to the NBA too. Despite acting like a knucklehead, again from memory, he had a very privileged upbringing.

For recklessly handling a firearm in public (illegal) within the same week of reports surfacing of allegedly assaulting and threatening a 17 year old with a gun. Not to mention, the Pacers thing a month ago.

Too many violent incidents in a short period of time.

Cause he dancing with his little baby gun at a club and holding it like it stinks and

it’s generally considered risky behavior to dance with a gun in a club where people drinking.

Having a gun isn’t a crime - being unsafe with it in public is

This is disappointing. Ja is the most exciting player in the league on the court. Everybody was excited for the rise of Memphis. This year he's just taken all that good will and set fire to it.

His statement is a good first step, but only if he means it. Threatening mall cops and 17 year old kids, brandishing guns in clubs, these aren't things a well balanced individual does at any age with any income. He needs a serious re-evaluation of his priorities and what constitutes a good life. It obviously doesn't have to be the same as my idea of a good life or yours, but it does need to involve not being an idiot. I hope he finds his way through this, but it could go either way.
