Already discussing a coaching transition? He's still the team's best big.

The very real reason why the window of contention may not stay open very long….Al is 36.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Al has been my favorite part of this season. People wrote him off years ago but he's managed to transform himself into one of the best role players in the NBA. He's ridiculously overpaid this season and the past couple but good for him. And his contract becomes more in line with his worth going forward so we should see him end his career here. I hope they're able to draft a 4/5 that can learn behind him and take over when that happens.

Coincidentally the old man and the three is a pretty accurate description of Al's game at this stage of his career.

Nah, he signed a 2 year contract extension
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

What are you talking about? We're all in this year. We have the #1 net rating in the NBA, the #2 record in the NBA and just destroyed the team with the #1 record (Bucks) by 41 points, in Milwaukee. We're the only team in the league that's top 5 in the league in offense and in defense.

Horford, Griffin are older
Timelord isn't reliable oft injured none of the three players can play in a back to back.
Can't will has regressed and wants 20 mill and cannot guard bigs
Hauser, kornet, muscala are all horrible at defense ( I will say Hauser sometimes looks decent).
We need to go all in and get us big man depth that can make a difference. No ring chasers are coming here so we need to go out and get them. I'm die hard but don't have green goggles on man we need a solid ten man rotation that can go to 8 in the playoffs and I'm not comfortable with can't will being our big man back up at all. Listen you might think this is great depth but I see other teams going all in and grabbing vets that had playoff experience we got muscala. Lol

Stevens has been on the job less than two years and in that span he went out and got Horford, White, Brogdon, Gallinari and Griffin. Bringing in playoff hardened vets to shore up the depth of this team is like all he does. Even Muscala is a 10 year vet with like 30 games played in playoffs.

Who exactly loaded up on vets at the deadline in the Eastern conference ? The Bucks ? Crowder at least fits the bill of an experienced vet that has seen the playoffs before. I don't know how someone could describe that move has going all in however. The Sixers ? They shipped out Thybulle for McDaniels so they actually got younger and less experienced. The Cavs ? Nope. The Knicks ? Well they got Josh Hart who has a vast experience of never playing in the playoffs. The Nets ? Lol. The Heat ? They salary dumped Dedmon and that's it.

If you are so worried about the Celtics depth go ahead and give us the name of the teams that are so much better from their 8th man down.

Any way to update the thread title to Alfred Horford?

Shouts to the poster who (months ago) corrected me. Since his Florida days, I thought it was Albert Horford.

Love me some Alfred Horford.
