Jokes aside, I really don’t get why some find the nickname this offensive.
It’s vulgar, and I’m sure Kuminga isn’t a fan , but I don’t see how it’s crossing some boundary
Maybe I’m missing something, but it’s not homophobic or hate speak in any shape or form imo. It’s also not this personal insult to him. It’s just a pun on his name.

Idk if offensive is the right word. But…the nickname is literally something that is ejaculated into/on to. Just comes off as extremely disrespectful and immature. I also can’t imagine someone using the nickname in person. Like how do they think people are going to react to hearing that?

Edit - wait, are you saying you wouldn’t take it as a personal insult if a stranger called you a *** bucket?

If I’m Kuminga, I wouldn’t be happy about it, but I’ll brush it off cause I’m a millionaire living it up in one the best cities on earth.

Remember Lebitch? LeQueen?
The LA Rapers?
The Utah Jizz?
It comes with the territory.
This is sports. It’s fun. It’s just a pun

Don’t get me wrong if I’m Kuminga and someone calls me that to my face, I’m throwing hands. But a nickname online? Wouldn’t phase me one bit.

I mean, those are probably the dumbest NBA fans on earth using those names. I’m not saying they should be banned here but they reflect extremely poorly on the fanbase.

Name one player who Kerr was inpatient with who then thrived under a different coach.

To be fair though, they haven't had any lottery picks for nearly a decade. Wiseman, Kuminga, and Moody were the first since Harrison Barnes in 2012. When you're picking at the end of the first round every year, those guys aren't really expected to stay in the league long, on average.

I do think he should have been playing Kuminga and Moody more earlier, and I've been saying it all year. Yeah, they're gonna make mistakes, but they'd be even more ready to contribute in the playoffs by now if they had more game time, and likely would have easily surpassed the likes of Lamb and Jerome by now. If Kerr had given Kuminga let's say 8 minutes per game from Lamb's 20 minutes, that would have been ~500 extra minutes played. That's a lot and would have accelerated his development, especially since Kuminga has proven he's a player who tends to thrive when given more minutes in a game.

Wiseman's a bit of a special case. I think he'll do better elsewhere but he was sort of a bad fit for Kerr's system from the start, which is partly Kerr's fault since he himself said he was fully on board with the pick. Then you had all of Wiseman's injuries and illnesses, just a lot of bad luck there. I understand why they moved him, but it's a shame to waste a high pick like that.

Like I said earlier in this thread, he has the best athletic profile in the entire league. The combination of his 6'8 size, with truly elite functional athleticism in every department (vert, first step, top end speed, lateral agility) is second to none at the moment. Then you add in that he is willing to put in the effort on defense (still has his lapses, but his on ball defense is getting better and better), his shot is mechanical but its not broken at all and now he is finally starting to finish more and more consistent with his left hand.

The potential is scary with him.

facts

you're not gonna find many players that are legit 6-8 with his build and athletic profile, he has a LeBron type of athletic profile, and I'm not saying that to comp him to LeBron but just in terms of physical prowess he has to be up there.

probably the only thing keeping him from getting on that level from a pure physical standpoint as his small hands (relatively speaking), otherwise yea, just crazy.

Yup. Just watch the dude for 2-3 minutes and he instantly stands out among other freak athletes. This is the main reason why he is a legit 1-4 defender already. Ya he still has his young player off ball instances, but on the ball he is a legit 1-4 defender. And Im not talking just "oh he switched onto the PG and held his own for a few possessions." No its 1-4 Kerr will put him on the opposing team's best player. And we are talking the wide variety of players. Whether its defending Zion and all that size, or if its defending Ja and his elite quickness, or its Luka and his size and skill. 1-4 Kuminga gets the assignment.

Then on offense, he is no doubt a mechanical player but nothing with his game is broken. He is shooting 35% from 3 this year, and as the season has gone on he is getting better and better with his shot selection. We all just gotta remember, he was the definition of a project coming into the draft. But damn seeing how he is playing as of late in just his 2nd year, hard not to get excited about him.

Ive never been prouder to be the mayor of Kuminga island than I am right now haha.

He’s still ridiculously young but he is benefiting from the team around him right now. That’s not to take away the fact that he’s playing his role exceptionally well for a 20 year old.

He's got some more potential, no doubt about it. But second to none in terms of size and athleticism? Similar physical prowess to LeBron James? He's listed at 210 lbs. LeBron was listed at 240 his rookie year, and better in every aspect athletically. Played most of his prime at 250-260. Do you know the difference and extra 40-50 lbs makes when guarding guys like this?

what separates him from Lebron is Lebron had an elite BBIQ even at 16 y/o and that only got better as the years progressed. His BBIQ is among the all-time greats with Bird and Magic. Kuminga isn't quite Lebron physically. He's a little shorter and a lesser athlete albeit not by much, to Lebron. He'd need to hit the sauce for a couple of seasons like Lebron to close that gap. Kuminga's skill level and BBIQ are WAY behind where Lebron was even at 16 y/o let alone 20 y/o. I think he presses quite a bit, trying to establish a role that would give him minutes and touches, on a win-now team, and maybe that's why he was reckless. Regardless, he was and still is reckless on both ends. If he ever puts it together he has superstar upside. Hopefully he'll get that chance.

good thing literally no one said anything about Minga's BBIQ and it's been only an athleticism comp
