Clips were down 15 points at the end of the third quarter. But they ended the game on like a 28-8 run and got the first win of the Russ Era.

It wasn’t just Ja, they were without Brooks, Adams, and Clarke.

That’s 3 starters and a key reserve player.

That should've been a Clippers blowout considering who the Grizzlies are missing. That Clippers D has just not been there this year but I will say they scoring has looked fine post-asb.

And in the Kings game LA lost 128-127 in Sacramento the other day, the Clippers were missing 3 starters (Leonard, Morris, Zubac) and a key reserve player (Powell). While Sacto was basically at full strength.

Tonight was a HUGE win. Especially considering how the game flow went.

does tonights win really count if they let a grizzlies team without Ja Morant , dillion brooks, steve adams & brandon clarke score 51 in the 3rd quarter?

No. As a matter of fact, this is a hollow victory. For all intents and purposes, it was a trap game.

Clippers are such a difficult team to figure out. One minute, they're playing fine. The next, they're playing putrid. Clippers are afraid, plain and simple.

It was only when the whole world was writing their epitaph that Clippers started turning things around. Gang up on them with the most negative things you can think of to break the team up, and they'll be forced to respond. This is why they did so well in the 2021 NBA Playoffs; the fear of being down 3-0 in a playoff series, where no team has ever recovered, straightened them out.

I have a feeling Steve Ballmer played a part. Perhaps he said to Lue, "Win this, or you're fired." Had they lost, Clippers would have just tanked remainder of the season and blow it up, even without a draft pick. At least now, everyone in Clippers know they're on the hot seat. That's why I made the post a few weeks ago.

The mere fact Clippers have to be literally threatened by something for the sake of motivation is why I still have issues with this team. I want them to succeed, but not like this.

Oh ****, I guess it is true! My bad. I had a look on basketball reference and sorted his 2022 season by Games Started but I guess I just looked at it wrong the first time.

Westbrook's teams prior to his past game had lost 20 consecutive games with him as a starter, damn.

The lineup data is showing exactly what it was expected to show. You can play Russ in lineups without a true center, but if you're going to put Plumlee or Zubac out there you need to have Mann in the game.

Last night was a clear example. The Clippers offense was by far at its best in the 4th when they benched the centers, and they defended better too.

And to think OKC always had him out there with a slow center with zero range (Perkins and Adam's, with perk not able to catch lobs, roll, or dunk dump of passes easily). Plus they also had the worst offensive wing in the league in Roberson next to them to boot, for several seasons. It's crazy he and KD are criticized for not winning a title there, and KD is criticized for leaving OKC, when their rosters and personnel were such a joke and bad fit for their two superstars.
