Absolutely embarrasing for the league. Silver has created a pussy culture through this player entitlement era to the point where it translates to the actual game itself where you can't be physical and play defense. Never thought I'd see the day where I wish we still had David Stern in charge.

OK....more teams than in the past era's when pace was higher. So this makes sense. But yeah a great moment for the NBA and a huge feather in Silver's Cap, proof he's doing a great job!

We need some plumbers with some belly and buttcrack and some accountants with sharp elbows to slow these guys down. Everybody thinks they're playing in an all-star game.

All shots should worth 1 point. If you don't agree you are "pussy"

Start with Giannis who has limited offensive skills yet he's averaging over 30 ppg

Silver has quickly ruined the competitive balance Stern worked so hard to achieve. In Stern's first year the NBA had an (at the time) record high 107.6 ORTG. Excluding 98-04 when the defensive rules were loosened (and ratings plummeted) the league average efficiency hovered between 104.6-108.3 every year of Stern's rule over the league.

Under Silver we are now sitting at a 114.5 ORTG and every previous scoring record is now meaningless.

Only weirdo around here is you . The only thing your favorite player is good at is driving basketball to the rim. Plus defenders are not allowed to look at him , they get whistled for the fouls. Everything about his offensive game is rudimentary , his shooting touch is below average. Yet he's one of the league leading scorers every season with so little offensive talent. To me his game is boring.

He is a Jokic fan that always bashes and underestimates his main rivals, just ignore him.

There’s plenty of talent in the league to expand to 32 teams. Add Seattle and Vegas and cut the schedule to 72 games.

With the new rules can you really blame the players, defender arn't allow to touch the players at the perimeter.

Call me old fashioned but ... "first one to 100 points wins"

Now there was a time, when that saying which promotes an alternative ending for a basketball game sometimes didn't occur in the NBA - as in neither team had got to 100 before time ran out. It didn't happen that often ... still you knew that Timmy D and the Spurs were probably going to hold you in the 80s or 90s - you couldn't let San Antone score 97, or you'd be sure to lose.

Sure, offense has changed and expanded. Thanks Steph, now we get it. If you can hit as soon as you cross half court then we have to send a defender out there. Now we are playing 4 on 4 where mortals shoots from, not 5 on 5. That's less defenders and more space.

Still, while it's too early to tell (like from a couple of years into "Steve Nash and seven seconds or less" all the way to "Steph proves the point" early) the Raptors seem to have found the concept for a defensive answer to the three point revolution. Still, as long as the league allows players to get fouls when their actions are not designed to score, but to willfully collide with a defender to get free throws, then the scores will remain overinflated.

Remember league average PPG was 107.6 and ORTG was 107.4 when they put an emphasis on not calling those fouls anymore. The refs could stop this tomorrow if Silver wanted them to.

Something I think a lot of people forget:

The NBA changed the offensive rebound shot clock number in 2018. It used to be when you got an offensive rebound, shot clock reset to 24 seconds. It's now 14 seconds.

Coincidentally, the same year the scoring average for a team per game across the league increased from 106 to 111 points a game. Teams increased field goal attempts by three per game as well under this new system.

I don't think this is so much about weak defense, moreso a change in pace and increased numbers of possessions overall.
