There are some reddit threads and youtube videos of Ja throwing up gang signs - these go as far back as a year. I don't think those made too much news but all of that is now starting to resurface. Skip B even called it out. One random thing okay fine it could happen to anyone, now you have 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... things and now it's starting to tell a story.

Memphis to Denver is like a 17 hour drive... its unlikely someone from his entourage would have drove there... the only way he gets out of it is if it ends up being someone else who owns it who met up with him in Denver.

Gets him out of the trouble from taking it on the plane... perhaps gets him out of trouble with local Denver are law enforcement if the person who owned the gun brought it in to the establishment and Ja just grabbed it quick for a picture/video with it.

I guess I don't know the legality of it, but can't someone check it on a flight in secured checked luggage or do you have to be the owner of the gun? Like I'm totally open to him being a dumbass and bringing it on the plane, but there are other possible scenarios. With it being so black and white in the CBA that is a huge part of the story that we can't just assume

How can the police prove it was a gun? I’m not sure how they can prove that. Any lawyers in here? To me, that’s the definition of “hearsay”

I hope not even though this is all of his own doing. I know Ja did the statement but I think a press conference would've been much better. For some reason the visual always works better than the written. Now maybe the Grizzlies have told him to just lay low for awhile but this is all accelerating very fast and I think he should just visually come out and address all of these incidents to help ease some of the pressure. Give the media something else to talk about right now.

It would be hilarious if he was flashing a toy gun, it would fit perfectly with his fake gangsta narrative. He would be mocked for the rest of his career.

Would you trust this clown in front of a live mike getting grilled on this subject? Especially when's he crafted the tough guy/gangsta image?

If this were a one-off, I might agree with you. But it's not. It's a series of events with escalating, bad behavior oftentimes including guns.

He's on a bad track and they need to get his attention. A wrist-slap isn't enough.

Suspend him for the rest of the year, so he can watch his team get crushed in the playoffs.

If I'm Memphis, I do a huge amount of legwork, to really dive deep into all of this, and find out if this is going to be an ongoing issue with Morant because he has a brain the size of a walnut, or he just needs a course correction.

I also start having discussions internally about moving him, and what kind of timeline is involved.

If I'm a team owner, I take a step back, and decide if he's going to be worth it moving forward.
