There's more to the game than just scoring. In addition the Sixers are a better team and you are comparing a starter on a terrible team to a rotation player on a contender. PJ's numbers and usage would come down a lot if he was playing for the Sixers.
I would agree, PJ would probably have much better advanced numbers on a good team with a smaller role and easier shots. Meanwhile McDaniels had an opportunity to play a lot more this year for Hornets and did not excel in a starter role.
