From round 2 on, you only get 1 day off between games including travel. A brittle AD and old Lebron won’t make it through those rounds

To be fair Phx has some brittle old dudes too. Denver has low-end talent after Jokic, and Dallas has lousy depth and an awful frontcourt. The West is wide open for the taking.

Not from the team that is 5 games under .500 and is not even in the freaking play in right now.

The Wizards currently have a better record and they are horrible yet we look at the Lakers differently because of names. We’ve played nearly 3/4’s of the season but people still talk like it’s prime Lebron and AD.

We're talking about the new look Lakers. The version of the team that got them to the 13th seed isn't relevant

That's not to say the Lakers are contenders, but they have 3 new starters so clearly they're in line for a new evaluation.

Unless you're just making the point that they're too far behind in the standings to make the playoffs. It's a tall order, but I wouldn't rule it out. Only 2.5 games from the 7th seed

I know this sounds crazy, but I think the Lakers are actually really good right now!!! LeBron’s healthy, AD’s starting to look like his old self, and the rest of the teams almost as good as 2020. I think they could easily go like 15-7 the rest of the way. I definitely think they’re better than Dallas, they should give the Mavs a whipping next game.

If they manage to win Vs Mavs then they would have the option to rest LeBron and AD either against Memphis or OKC.
It will be a really tough decision but it will be the right decision. There is no point in making the playoffs if you are banged up.

if they go 6-1 after the trade deadline (theyre 3-1 right now) - then, I will start to like their chances..

If they manage to beat Dallas, Memphis, and OKC all on the road in their next three games, following up what we have seen in their last few games, I think they are track to compete for a top 6 seed and bypass the play-ins.

The Lakers pretty much can't finish 6th. That means passing Dallas, Phoenix, or LAC.

I'm still skeptical. They have to hope for a lot of teams to lose.

Every time they have a chance to beat a team that is a game or 2 ahead of them, they blow it. It has happened more times than not. I understand they are playing better after the trades, but I will not be excited until they beat some of those teams.

They will be lucky to get 8th seed and get a home playin game.

getting ahead of yourself boss. Dallas/Memphis/Oklahoma City is a pretty difficult 3 game roadtrip. 2-1 should be the goal and i can easily see 0-3, even with the Lakers being better. Thats 3 good motivated teams

They equalised the record with 2 play-in teams.

i hoped not but the other teams (Wolves, Pels) are sucking so they are letting the Lakers in. Better drama for the NBA if LeBron makes it to the playin/playoffs though, so that's better.

Of course they’re gonna make it. And if it’s the Warriors that they play then they will easily win play-in game too. Even most Warriors fans know this imo and are praying that their play-in game isn’t against Lakers.

Warriors will have home court. If the game was in LA, it would be easy as they suck on the road, not so much at Oracle.

Wolves aren't sucking what are u talking about?

yeah, the Pels fell apart without Zion and Bi (later with Bi) and multiple other players missing games as well

Wolves are fine
