Tbh, part of his behaviour is because we have a society that constantly reinforces the idea millionaires should be allowed to do what they want without consequences. This is an attitude that's probably more prevalent in the middle classes than people from the hood.

This is just his way of letting the team know he wants to switch to shooting guard.

I believe Colorado is an open carry state so unless he actually pointed it at someone he likely technically didn't commit a crime and will likely avoid all legal trouble. I suspect that is more luck on Ja's part than actually being aware of the law though

Based on precedent with Arenas, it's 50 games.

CBA text gives the commisioner power to suspend for ANY amount of time.

Exactly right, I don't know why he'd make something up that is so easy to fact-check. A violation of the firearm policy in the CBA (which is pretty strict) results in discipline by the NBA in accordance with Article 35 (d) of the NBA Constitution and By-Laws--that article says "The Commissioner shall have the power to suspend for a definite or indefinite period..."

Where does it say 50 games exactly? I don't see that anywhere. There is precedent. Gilbert Arenas got suspended for guns in the workplace. That was the rest of the season. If Ja doesn't get the same suspension, GA should sue to get his salary back.

He can come back from this. Ja can. The suspension would be the best thing for him. He needs a cold slap in the face.

TV's fault. TV glorifies violence like it's some sort of "cool". It's "cool" to be gangsta and act tough as shown on TV. I remember in the 70's and 80's, there were so many cigarette commercials, and everyone smoked as a result. Then a movement started sometime in the late 90's where smoking was removed from TV and you become a pariah if you smoked. Now smoking is vilified by society for the most part. I think it's the same thing with guns and violence. TV normalizes it. I only watch TV for Laker games and Clippers to watch Westbrook lose but other than that, I never touch the TV.
