I still expect the Cowboys to draft a RB. A guy who’s name keeps coming up recently is RB Jahmyr Gibbs from Alabama. Obviously he would be a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He’s a smaller shiftier RB than someone like Bijan Robinson or Zach Charbonnet. Gibbs fits the West Offense better than the bigger backs. Pairing him with Pollard would be fun to watch.

I really like our current TE's. Rather use our first round pick on someone else.

So... here's a good nugget to mull over.

If Jerry fails to get Bobby Wagner, who would you look to as a solid Plan B?

LVE... or Eric Kendrick?

I want to keep Vander Esch and draft Drew Sanders with our first pick this year.

Jerry is too sinister for Bobby.

Yeah I think of those you listed I'd go LVE, but it would depend on what Wagner would demand contract wise. I'm imagining you'd have to over pay for him which is not ideal because he is past his prime.

That thought crossed my mind

I would have to really consider Kendrick though for the right price. Dude was a victim of the salary cap in Minn. He still has game and if LVE were to get a deal elsewhere I'd have to think Kendrick would be a nice Plan B.

Geno Smith got a $100m 3-year deal.

He had a great year he really did, but it didn't seem that long ago when a $100m was a big deal. Now it's becoming the QB average.

Geno's deal is actually 3 years, $75m.

$30m is tied to incentives. So if he plays well, then he'll see that money. But he got $40m guaranteed. Which is half of the guarantees given to Daniel Jones- $82m. It's a massive difference.

The team can basically move on after 1 year. Or keep him, if he continues to play well.

Crazy.

That contract just destroyed the QB market. If Daniel Jones is worth $40M per how much is Jackson or Hurts worth? Jackson has an MVP award and Hurts has been to the Super Bowl, Jones has neither.

So far, teams are falling all over themselves saying they "aren't interested" in Jackson. That is mindless... and very predictable.

Yeah.

Daniel Jones must have the Michael Jordan equivalent of agents

Yea but whatever team “wins” the Jackson sweepstakes is still going to have to pay him and I would say if Jones is getting $82M guaranteed over 2 seasons then Jackson is worth at least $100M guaranteed over the same time span. I would say that $100M guaranteed is where the negotiations should start. Same goes for Hurts. Hurts might even be looking at $120M guaranteed over 2 seasons.

Lamar wants north of $200m.

The Watson contract was really the tipping point for these deals.

True... the problem of course is that the horse is out of the barn. Good luck corralling that thing.

I think at this point it's fair to say Prescott is paid close to where he ranks. Watson and Murray contracts are insane. It's crazy how the Browns continue to place themselves as the epitome of bad decisions.

Mahomes going to get like a $500m deal at some point. Rest of his team will be playing for min wage.

Just wait until Burrow, Allen, Lawrence, and Herbert are all due for a new contract. Not even kidding, these guys are looking at $60M-$65M per season.
