Losing Bulls Pick Question

Post#1 » by mattdelray1220 » Wed Mar 8, 2023 4:18 pm

What pick would the Magic have to get for you to be ok with missing out on the Bulls pick this year?

For example, if we got 3 and the Bulls got 4 are you ok with this? Would you rather picks 5 and 10 or 3 and miss the pick?

I am guessing the above and picks 1 and 2 are the only way we aren't upset right? Would you be upset if we got 4 and the Bulls got 3? Yes, but is it better than 6 and 11?

Agree. Would you rather 4 and 7 or 2? 4 and 6 or 2?

I wouldn't be too bothered if the pick doesn't convey this year, then we will have Chicago's 2024 pick and with all of thier issues I doubt they'd make the playoffs next season.

I'll take a top 2 pick over 4 and 5 this year. Wemby or Scoot could change the outlook of the team for the next decade+ alongside Paolo and Franz.

1 or 2 only.

I think there's a non-zero chance Amen Thompson is universally considered the No. 3 prospect ahead of Brandon Miller by the time the draft rolls around.

You'd have to pretend positions don't exist and simply play a big lineup of Miller/Wagner/Banchero as the three "wings" basically.

Start as a sixth man first season, then the more strenght the 3 gain you gonna put on the floor the death line-up + two guards

+ 1 - I read the question wrong based on the direction of the conversation.

1 or 2 if it doesn't convey. Of course there is a planet where they get 1 or 2 and it doesn't convey and we get knocked down to the 6th pick.

Stranger things have happened.

Whatever our pick is I will not be okay with losing out on the Bulls pick this year. Ask yourself this- if you are the Bulls and keep this year's pick does this pick put you in a class of champions with the current core? Vuc and DeRozan are aging and lavine and Ball are often in injured.

So if the Bulls got a top pick they would have the first piece of a rebuild and every incentive to blow it up and flat out tank as hard as the 76ers ever have. They could easily pile up draft picks and young assets for their core 4. A top pick next year too and they would only have to convey 2 second round picks to us.

The idea of losing a lottery pick for nothing is not something I'd ever just be ok with I mean unless maybe shaq or MJ was the prize

It's all luck anyway so why worry too much about it? They are putting us in the best possible position  Good enough to not likely land a top 4 pick and bad enough to, hopefully, miss the play-ins. The rest is luck.

I will say, I will miss having other games to watch that I'm invested in. I've watched a ton of Bulls games this year.

Top two and I'll not care about missing out on the Bulls pick. Otherwise I'll be a sad boi. I really want to have a crack at two lottery studs.

I would rather have 1st overall pick and lose Bulls pick than draft 8th and 9th. :dontknow:

Yet another rookie does not change the progression of this team. So if the Magic is 4 or 5 or 7, what's the difference?

Frankly, I am ok without the Magic gaining a rookie at all. There are a lot of young assets on this team. For example, if the Magic was to trade Okeke and the lone pick for a SG upgrade, fine.

A) Would the Magic trade their 2023 two FRPs, the 2025 FRP, the Denver pick and the 2027 FRP for the rights to Wembanyama? It is a clear YES. So, for the Magic to go overall #1, that is worth more than the Magic trading all future available draft assets.

B) For Orlando to rise to 8th or 9th in the draft would be HORRIBLE lottery luck.

if we get 1 or 2, i literally wont even pay attention to the bulls pick, hell the nuggets can keep their pick too at that point

Give me Wemby to team with Paolo and franz for the next decade and nothing else would even matter
