This Kirby guy seemed kind of mad Giannis isn’t being seen as the mvp over Jokic and Embiid since he’s the best player in the game.

Joker's efficiency is up but on less shots and less ppg. He's getting 2 less boards and 2 more assists. All of this makes sense given that he has better teammates this year.
But Embiid is also scoring more and more efficiently (though his rebounding is down slightly). Giannis is scoring more but slightly less efficiently.
it's close if you dismiss all the data that shows that it's not close.
the only thing we have is the perkins level ppg and a very generic "defense matters".
once you look at efficiency, advanced all in one stats, playmaking, on/off, +/-, lineup data, team wins, games played.
Jokic is by far the best offensive player we have today (in the RS) and one of the best ever (in the RS), significantly higher than both Giannis and Joel.

You're being incredibly dismissive over the massive gap between 24 ppg and 31/33 ppg here.

If anyone were to be dismissive over that gap that would also be silly.

That's because I am significantly more interested on the gap between 126.8 and 117.8/120.3.

After listening 100th podcast about MVP race, and how Embiid is amazing and how Giannis is amazing and how Jokic is amazing, I think we are on the next level now.
NO ONE can make valid argument AGAINST Embiid or Giannis or Jokic.
All 3 should win if anybody cares.

maybe Gold MVP, Silver MVP, and Bronze MVP each season? that holds better value than 1st team

It’s gonna shake out Jokic 1, Embiid 2, Giannis 3, Tatum 4 and then Luka- followed by KD in 6th then Dame, Mitchell, Curry and Lebron in no particular as your top ten. Booker might pass Lebron but I doubt it…

That's why it's less fun but subtly cooler to wait until the season finishes and see what happens. Still some marquee games between some of the contenders left, and I've noticed that they make quite an impression on actual voters.

33 PPG is insane. I would give it to Embiid.
Denver and Philly have similar records anyway. And Embiid's defense is far better.

I think points created is much more important than PPG.

Basketball reference has generally been higher on James hardens career than most casual fans and nba voters
Harden has been on the top 10 of this list the past 3 seasons but has not made an all nba team in those years. Maybe Perkins was right

that voters favor players who maybe a bit ambiguous or euro compared to players of harden's shade
its almost like the voters saw that prior to 2020, harden had more all-nba and all star selections than steph curry the very player from hardens draft class, and said," no, no.. this aint right." lets correct this

Jokic is MVP again imo. Embiid finishing above Giannis three years in a row would be hilarious tho
