Rank these PGs by 2-year peak

Post#1 » by GeorgeMarcus » Wed Mar 8, 2023 8:09 pm

Jason Kidd
Penny Hardaway
Gary Payton
Damian Lillard

There are some similarities between Kidd and GP but overall these are very different breeds of PG. How would you rank them in order of 2 year peak?

I came for the trades and transactions but stayed for the player comparisons

I kinda don't want to vote because of this 4 way tie. Also I genuinely can't come up with an answer

I voted Penny. There's something about long, athletic, smart pgs that translates really well to winning bb. More so when they can do many things well and score efficiently. It's also interesting to me how good of a 3pt shooter Penny became in the playoffs while in Orl(on a lot of attempts).

Lillard does not really have a great 2-year peak, either injuries or absolutely catastrophic playoff performances heavily penalize him.

I'm going Penny >>>> Kidd > Payton >>>> Lillard (> not neccesarily indicating huge margins, but that I am very comfortable with the choice).
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

19-21 would have to be it for me. Marked improvement in efficiency over peak scoring volume. Even during the playoffs, he was more efficient on greater volume than any other 2-year sample in his career.

Do the two peak seasons have to be adjacent?

Dame probably has the best offensive peaks but his defense is so much worse than all of the others. I'd only take Dame under particular circumstances. For instance in replacement of Curry on the Kerr Warriors. With such strong defenders around him I'd take Dame for the firepower which none of the other three can come very close to.

But under neutral or unknown circumstances, I'd rate them as follows:
1. Penny
2. GP
3. Kidd
4. Dame

Yes, that's what I had in mind. Otherwise this season would be in the runnings for me
