if players adjust to a ref's foul-calling

why can't they adjust to a ref's temperment < this in fact should be easier. just STFU

He wanted to throw him out to illustrate power. **** him.

He got tossed because he's ugly...his looks are an offensive foul.

Scott Foster is sensitive to being called a cheat from back in the Donaghy days

I watched the Clips/Raps game on ESPN and they talked about that on air. They all agreed that Foster had potentially influenced the winner - and that was beyond his job. They talked about discretion and the missed opportunity of a "learning opportunity" by warning Barnes severely but not altering the outcome (Like "I'm going tech you in the next game for that comment ... it's too close to the end of the game right now ... but if you ever ..." sort of thing).

Then somebody said something like " ... and you can "trigger" an official. If he's been called a name before, whether he was guilty of doing that ... or not ... he could be really sensitive about being called certain names."

On national tv ... it was hilarious. No one called Foster a "cheat" on the broadcast ... but they sure explained the situation as if anybody who wasn't new would already now that.

So, Fred Van Vleet has kept this Raptor beef going. Not only did he "take the fine" and speak about about Fosters ejection of the laid back Scottie comment, but he mixed it up with Ben Taylor who reportedly has given Fred 5 of his 8 techs this year.

ESPN, and seemingly everyone else, talks like they agree with Raps ... the refs are "too sensitive" and too blind to how that impacts the game in big moments ... this is not what the fans came to see.

Stephen A Smith's thoughts

4:45 time stamp in video

"The point is now we've got these referees in here, and they're giving technical fouls and ejecting dudes from the game with no regard for the audience that is in the stands, or the millions watching on television that want to see them play. No regard for it whatsoever.

And when that kind of stuff is happening, I think it is really really problematic, and the league needs to get a hold of it, because Fred Van Vleet is right - you're not coming to see the referees play, and I think it's important to point that out. That doesn't mean the players should get away with just anything now. There is such a thing as crossing the line.

But I've personally seen techs given out, and ejections take place, that paled in comparison to some of the stuff we are talking about here. It's just that the referees have gotten a bit out of control ... and dare I say tremendously soft mentally ..."

Unfortunately, I didn't capture the video, but last night I saw a youtube video called something like "Scott Foster: Worst official in the NBA". Among other things, they showed an aggregate of last-two-minute reports. If I have it right, Scott Foster (or maybe Scott Fosters crew) in the regular season has a 50% higher rate of making an "incorrect call" than the average crew ... and in the playoffs that goes up to double the average crew (maybe cause only the best officials make the playoffs).

Still, despite the reality that those marks make Foster and his crew the worst crew in the NBA, they still get playoff games. Hmmm!

I legitimately have no idea what OP's talking about. I will say that is the most overly worded poll I have ever seen created lol.

Most of my polls are similar with a descending spectrum from one "end" of an issue to the other. So the first option basically says "It's all Scottie's fault." The seventh option is means "Foster is a cheat." In between, I've tried to form reasonable opinions that fill in the shades of grey along the way. The last three options are obviously for people who don't like the spectrum created for different reasons.

Hopefully, that clarifies it ... unless you are just trolling.
