Why because they hit 3s??? Did you even watch the game? What did Kyrie do the first 3 quarters? They were down double figures before luka re-entered the game in the second quarter.

homer still thinks this team is so good though.

kyrie + luka together gave us 3 win 7 loss so far.

without getting Kyrie. i don't think the results will be any worse.

Circumstances tho. Played last night , then a flight to an away game. Is there any other team that always have their b2bs with away game for 2nd game?

Those are legit reasons, which can also be thought as excuses.

just saying.
If the game was competitive most of the night I might say circumstances. It wasn't close so it's an excuse.

Luka was a -4 in +/-. Kyrie was at 0.

Luka has had a negative +/- for 10 games now. Its the opposite with Kyrie.

The team plays much better when they play with Kyrie. Its not even a debate. No need for you to cry about it, these are facts.

Luka exit the game in the 3rd... Mavs got hot in the 4th with like 8 minutes to go... Bertans, Woods, Hardaway hit couple three's that has nothing to do with kyrie, he was garbage the first three quarters.

If they knew Luka would play this bad, they could have just sat him out. Could have saved him 1 technical foul.

So role players playing the way they are has nothing to do with the best player who has a 40% usage rate? :D

Again, dont just look at one game. Its been a trend since Kyrie came over that they play better when he is on the floor than when Luka is on the floor. Much better. I know its killing you inside but those are the facts.

I guess luka don't give his role players open 3s... I guess it's his fault that they brick them got it...

What about the 76ers game luka went to the bench at the end of the third with Mavs up about twenty, kyrie entered and what happened guess its just one game...

Guess at this point the Mavs should just move Luka and build around Kyrie since the team is so much better with him.

Basketball is all about shooting 3s in your expert opinion. Got it.

Why dont you address the large sample size rather than seeking specific 5-6 min parts of individual games? I can answer the question for you. Its because you have no other argument. None, zero. You have to resort to such idiotic arguments to try and prove your point. Of course you fail every time.

Now go cry to your mommy how teammates are playing better with Kyrie and playing worse with Luka on purpose because they want to sabotage him for whatever reason.

Don't tell other users to go cry to your mommy.

Maybe the answer is very simple, Luka is out of form and shape after being used too much, playing more or less non stop since late June, having just few weeks off after playoffs. Kyrie, who is really playing better than him, has having load management for different reasons few years now. Great athlete shouldn't have problems with so many games, but Luka is obviously not the best athlete.

Luka should rest and take care if his injury completely before he returns. Mavs have no use of him, if he's not ready to play 100%.

Btw. The biggest problem for Mavs is not offense, with Luka or without him, but disastrous D. I find just incredible that nothing has been done about paint D since Clippers series, where Mavs were forced to play Boban.

All the more reason to sit some games out. No reason to force himself to play injured and risk a bigger injury. No upside to doing so.

Stupid stupid stupid decision let him play trough injury.

Does this type of comment accomplish anything good for anyone?

The board doesn't have enough users for this type of animosity "cry to your mommy", "idiotic", when all the other user did was explain his opinion.

"Good" thing he was hurt, because this looked kind of bad otherwise...

Every year, same thing, "Is he fat?" "Out of shape"? "Is he hurt?". Luka needs to take ownership of things. When will that happen? Maybe he just isn't suited to bring the same intensity and focus to every game.

Luka aside, it's hard to win if your defense is so broken. Also **** CJ.

Holiday was -30, Frank -16... Luka was still only -4 and they were on the floor with him at some point. After the 1st Q game was tied, he was at 0. When he came back, score was 32 : 40 for NOLA.

Kidd let Doncic struggle for 3Q's before he finally sat him down for good. He couldn't even walk properly, how is he going to play at the highest level, we all saw that. He was bad, no excuses other than the fact that Kidd is not doing anything on the sidelines. He should have recognized that, be smarter and said, look you're injured your leg is messed up, we will sit you down for couple of games.

Also, Kyrie was bad until the 4th Q.

XTraderXL wrote:Luka has had a negative +/- for 10 games now. Its the opposite with Kyrie.

That's literally not true :o
Kyrie benefits a lot by playing mostly against bench units with basically best and highest production role players, opposite is true for Doncic. You can simply go and check lineup combinations.

For example, Mavs BY FAR the best 5 man combination is Luka,Green, THJ, Maxi, Wood at incredible +24pts. But they rarely play together.

Kyrie's best unit is Bullock, Green, Kyrie, THJ, Powell at 10pts lower than lineup above.

Also, all lineup combinations (2-man, 3-man, 4-man, 5-man) with highest point difference have Luka in them. It's on coaches to figure it out but that's too much to ask from them because they are just watching like us.

To complicate things even further, Mavs might be without Doncic for extended time. They probably made a mistake by not taking care of this sooner.

They made a mistake by letting him play through it. All year he's rested on back to backs and all of a sudden he plays this one, while actually injured? Not load management, but actually injured this time. It's not like it was a secret. Luka has been talking about his leg not feeling right for weeks. Not to mention, even many of us noticing how extra slow he has been the last week or so and saying he probably needs to heal up.

Hopefully we get good news and it's not too bad. I'm honestly pretty worried about this one though especially so late into the season.

Luka will soon need Zion Williamson type of load management if he comes in every year heavier that the previous year.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
