The refs should be gunning for us the rest of the way.

The tWo may be back at full strength again soon.

1.5 games behind Atlanta for the 8th seed, 1.5 games ahead of the Bulls who have the 7th best odds at the lottery.

Never felt so deflated about this team since the Bryan Colangelo days. At least the Tampa Tank had something to look forward to, and accomplished something long term. The worst part is making a "win now" move to be a mediocre team.

I think most of this board is on board, but the FO will clearly try to save face on this trade come hell or high water. Masai basically told us he's going for the play-in spot when he walked back on the "play on for what" comment during the post trade deadline interview, and his reasoning being that they were in Tampa and this is different.
This doesn't sound like the Masai I know of, more like the guy who's being told not to tank by his superiors (esp with that 20% ticket price hike coming)

You believe Masai is forced to go for play-in/play-offs? The GM/President sets the ticket prices. It's all his decision.

If we tank now we should be able to get a very good PG or Combo PG. S&T FVV ASAP for solid PG and short slavery fill plus draft capital. Play more shooters if Jak is your guy Off/Def going forward.

Nothing has really changed. What's the difference between 6th and 10th? Nothing substantial. If anything, we've had rotten luck this year and should have more wins. There's no chance that we'd be as bad as the Rockets/Spurs/Hornets/etc anyway.

The real problem, regardless of current positioning, is the upward trajectory on this team. The Thunder and Magic are sure bets to surpass us soon and the Pacers/Jazz will be right there. The Pistons could be right there too with a healthy Cade and another lotto pick. Same with any of the bottom teams if they get Victor or Scoot.

What upside does a Pascal and Fred duo have? Not a very good one. And Scottie is hardly looking like a real franchise piece like an Anthony Edwards. He's a young version of what Fred and Pascal are, supportive pieces.

Good enough to beat the bad teams but not enough to beat the good teams. Treadmill zone.

Masai probably pivots in the offseason but the path to acquiring a superstar isn't real clear atm and we're probably out a frp regardless unless he really strips this roster down. But you'd prob rather have done that this year instead of in a weaker draft year next year.

This is where he really needs to earn that big salary.

Really just need to hit on a shooter/guard like how the Sacramento Kings did and they're now #2 in the West. :o

I wouldn't mind nabbing Cason Wallace to be a Marcus Smart/Jrue Holiday level defender that helps the team win. Scottie guarding POA isn't working out.

Masai has implicit biases that negatively impacts the roster. Most of us know he's likely married to the core especially bringing Poeltl back. What will create change?

Both ways it's incredibly unlikely.

Arguably we could've made a try at the one thing though, even if it would've been unlikely. You might get a better chance at a Scottie Barnes type than if you don't try at all as well. But we went with the middling compete route instead.

Right? lol can’t believe this needs to be explained.

The difference between 6 and 10 are the LOTTERY ODDS. Now could this be the year the team drafting in 10th moved up in the lottery? Sure maybe that’s the risk being in the lottery. But at 6 you have a 36 percent chance at the top 4. Also picking higher in the draft is better just in general.

Also we’re currently at 12 and if we make the lottery we don’t have a lotto pick.

But... what's to say they aren't still trying at the trade route? That's still a possibility right? And I need to explain that?

Nurse running the starters to the ground all season is why tWo is making a comeback. I don't blame him for doing it because Masai/Bobby have equipped him with a lousy bench.

I don't think the Raps will fall to the 11th but I hope they do at this point.

This part should have been the rebuild pivot top reason. We're likely to be passed very quickly by other teams. It seems inevitable at this point.
