Apparently the commander's have made it clear they are not going after a Lamar Jackson trade.

Probably going to be a quiet offseason for them because they don't want to spend a bunch of money with the ownership question lingering. (If they had made a big splash, I'd take that as a sign Snyder wasn't actually selling lol.) Other than paying Daron Payne the franchise amount, I predict they look for bargains late in the offseason and in the meantime keep trying to sell the fanbase on Bienemy+Howell=success.

Hard to know what’s happening behind the scenes. I’m guessing it’s bananas. But I do think they’ll spend to the cap. Pick up an Olineman or two, probably someone who knows Bienemy’s offense. Maybe a CB or LB.

I mean why not give howell a chance he looks as good as any of these guys cuz this is a week QB draft honestly. Get skilled position guys so draft well and move on. Hit up some good solid under the radar fa. Keep grinding. The teams good then just need a boost.

Wouldn't mind grabbing Zach Wilson to compete with Sam if the Jets bring in Rodgers. Wouldn't pay more than a 5th though.

That's a great idea but his salary is going to be high.

I would too. See if Bienemy could fix him. But I think it would make a helluva lot of sense to bring in as much comp at the position as possible, like any other position on the field.

Originally I wanted Anthony Richardson, but after the combine, that ain't happening. I knew he would impress at the combine and raise his stock; I didn't know it would vault him to possibly QB2.

There are better young back ups like lock or menshew and I'd rather dump that 5th on a rookie QB or just sign someone undrafted or from the xfl I'd rather take a flyer on aj mccaron or someone

I hate this narrative that Ted's a bad owner. He isn't even in the bottom half when it comes to **** owners of sports teams. Is he a winner no, is he annoying yes, but he's not a piece of **** or a bad owner.

Are the Wizards a property with suppressed value? Or they are maximally successful.

Ted's a fine guy, if a bit thin-skinned, and loving the sound of his own voice. But his organizational philosophy keeps this team a perpetual small fish in a big pond. In Ted's world view, not every team has championship aspirations, somebody has to be the sparring partner, the practice squad. So long as you are nice people, it's okay. We can promote the opponent, sell tix to the out of town transplants and transient residents, and build a culture that pretty good is good enough. Or would be, if we could get there. Ted wants the safety net of being able to fail with dignity and call it a moral victory. His 'double bottom line' is great for a non-profit, or charity, or his independent film company.

That's fine. It prevents him from being a Snyder. I appreciate that aspect. Yet we can be sure that his personal overview has driven away qualified candidates to make the team better. Masai Ujiri wanted to be here. Ted made it clear that ultimately basketball decisions go through a committee. We don't hear jack about Raul Fernandez, or Laurene Powell Jobs, or Jeff Skoll or whomever being involved in sports decisions. They don't show up at games. They are not tweeting or dropping press releases congratulating themselves. But Ted is the first to trumpet each of the smallest successes and claim credit for them. Meanwhile the Raptors have won a championship at least once in the short time Ujiri has been captaining the team. No idea who is in charge of that franchise, Masai is the guy. No second guessing.

A sports team has one measure that all FANS aspire to: championships. Plural. Or leastways the reasonable hope every year that it is a possibility. I don't hate Ted for not being a sociopath whose entire focus is on winning a chip. But I do get the sense he believes his own PR. And feels happy with small victories. Fans however are allowed to expect better. We should have a winning team, a building filled with hometown fans, pride in buying the merch. And NEVER hear the building rock with cheers for the other team. As a fan it is fine to say: Not good enough. Paying Beal a quarter billion dollars to buy his 'loyalty': not good enough. Intending to overpay Kuzma: not good enough. Calling the play-in games a goal: not good enough. The fans' bottom line is bragging rights and literal joy at watching your team beat the odds. Great to reward Brad's loyalty with an unconscionable amount of cash. What about fan's loyalty? What is the plan to reward us. With wins. Because this ain't it, and no I'm not gonna be happy eating oatmeal for dinner one more time and hearing it called nutritious.
