Is Moritz Our Backup Next Year?

He has impressed me. Obviously he is not a defensive juggernaut to say the least. I think he can add a little more size, shoot 34% from 3 and be 20min off the bench next year.

I don't mind him...I'm more intrigued with Goga. Ideally, we keep both for very little and neither plays.

I hope not, too.

But I think he will be, since that's the route that requires the least effort/aggressiveness by our front ofice, which is kind of their M.O.

(he'd be overqualified as third-stringer, though)

So you have Wembanyama coming off the bench behind Carter. Makes sense.

I like him. Energy, screening, offensive activity, ball movement, takes charges, gets to the foul line and is a great ft shooter, shoots the three, and can score buckets. Advanced stats like him for the most part as well. I can see him getting better at taking charges and helping on defense. He's a keeper in my books though I know it's not the popular opinion.

im fine with moe....just not at center....he can't be your last line of defense....he can still do everything he's doing(or not doing) now at his rightful position, power forward....we need a real center backing up dell

My expectation is that the front office has already decided to commit to him long term this offseason as our backup big. In my opinion, I believe they feel like they have to, as a result of his play this year combined with his status as Franz's brother.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Using the term backup loosely here. He can be our backup 4, emergency/situational backup 5.

As long as he helps Frans become an allstar heck yes! I don't care if he's even good we NEED his brother but if he happens to be our leading scorer a few times, takes a few charges and gets the other teams player ejected for 6 dollars a game what's not to love?

I'm still hoping for a chance that WCj is our backup. I like Mo, but more as a scenario based role player. It doesn't matter how much he scores when he is such a liability on defense. I'd give him $3-4M tops.

as long as his defense is what it is (poor) and he has the offensive aggression of a 1st option, he shouldnt be anything other than a 3rd stringer.

He needs to be the backup to the backup, clearly.

Many people complain about his defense yet he is Top 5 in the league in drawing charges. There is a reason he is just the backup to Wendell. His defense needs work. But he hustles on the play and score efficiently. What he needs is better defense rotation and consistency plus a more consistent jumper

Defense is so much more than flopping as a reflex and giving up open baskets because refs aren't buying the acting job

Voted yes. Has nothing to do with what I want or dont want.

On paper I want an upgrade, I am also not upset because he does provide us depth off the bench at least. He definitely belongs in the NBA.
