It's a good question. What do WeHam value in prospects? I don't have a good idea of their evaluation process and what attributes they value most. It could be they see shooting as teachable and value hard work and character over shooting. I do not think they draft for a particular skillset or look for fit in the lottery but instead take character, work ethic, and overall skill into consideration. Which means the Thompson twins could evaluate highly on their boards. What do you think?JoshuaPotter wrote:eyriq wrote:Knightro wrote:Mock Drafts and Big Boards appear to be starting to crystalize a little bit. Not necessarily in ways that will make Magic fans happy though.
Wemby is locked in at 1. Scoot is locked in at no worse than 3. Miller is locked in no worse than 4. Nothing new there.
Where it gets interesting, perhaps in a bad way for Magic fans, is the next five or so picks after the top 3-4.
The Thompson Twins, Whitmore and Walker all seem to be locked in as top 10 players, perhaps even top 8 players.
None of those four guys are players that anyone on this board would be over the moon to draft based on the last 100+ pages of discussion.
Vecenie mentions the increased value of wings. We could grab another and make it work. Whitmore could slide into that combo forward role, Walker into that combo big role. Ausar could slide into a swing-man role. Amen could take over PG duties. Which is all to say I wouldn't have a terrible time accepting any of these picks.
Over under on us drafting the twin boys?

I think both Thompson twins and Whitmore are very much in play.

I could be almost as excited about drafting him as I would be about drafting top 2 just in terms of the impact I believe he'd have as a complimentary piece around Franz and Paolo.Def Swami wrote:Would be happy to take Gradey Dick with one of the two picks. That kid can play.

A seamless fit, right? 6'8" shooter who knows how to play without the basketball. He'd slot perfectly in at SG. His size is underrated. It was an underrated part of Franz Wagner coming out of college too. A guy with that kind of skill and size is going to find a way to make an impact in the league.

It wouldn't totally surprise me if his shooting percentages end up respectable at the end of the season.
