When i bet on him around 30games into the season the odds were 8.5/1.
He was behind Doncic, Tatum, Giannis, Curry and KD i believe at that point.

I think the odds were around 15/1 before the season started, most likely because no one thought people would vote for him to win it 3rd time in a row, everyone thought he would need a perfect season and Denver winning the east.

Its happening now..

Jokic running away with MVP yet again, well deserved. One of the best regular season players of all time.

It can be argued that Giannis was resting against bad teams, in games where his team didn't need him to win. But, that definitely wasn't the case with Embiid. At this point, Embiid shouldn't be in the conversation.

If we use this weird logic, then Joker also has the most losses, so he shouldn't be in the conversation either?

So congrats Giannis?

What's weird about counting wins? That's the goal of the game.

If Embiid beats Jokic on his own court in a few days there is no way he is losing it after that. But he has to keep playing. No more load management. If you really want the award you have to push yourself at least the first time.

Giannis will be completely out soon due to load management. He doesn't seem to care much for another.

Giving up 130+ in a loss to the Spurs should automatically disqualify you from being the MVP!

Joker finally shoots and plays great, but they lose to the spurs lmao.

The tides are turning to favor Embiid. 2 losses to teams they shouldn’t lose too.

Don't know if I can put Jokic ahead of Giannis at this particular point of the season.

Clutch game by Embiid. I can respect that shot. Well done. Jokic on the other played good but Denver lost so that’s on him. It will be a close race for the reward. But one thing is for sure Nuggets need to wake up or they will not win a championship if they continue to play like have the last 3 games

It's fine if you also count losses. Otherwise it's not an objective argument.

Either way it's going to be an embarrassment because both Embiid and Jokic will flop in the playoffs.

Giannis is the best player in the game and the only one of the three who can rise to another level in the playoffs.

Giannis gaining fast.

Still can't see Embiid at this point in time.

Since the last straw poll was taken, here are the team records:

BUCKS.......8-1 (3-0 without Giannis; 5-1 with Giannis)
NUGGS......5-3 (all with Jokic)
SIXERS.......5-3 (1-0 without Embiid; 4-3 with Embiid)

Sixers recently lost 3 in a row with Embiid, 2 of those coming at home.

Denver's recent stumbles likely help Giannis the most, although of course Embiid also benefits. But with Denver and Philly having the same record since the last straw poll, can't see how Embiid has made up any ground. And he had a huge amount of ground to make up as he was at 490 total points to Jokic's 913.

But there's hope now for Jokic's challengers. I know someone posted Mannix talking to Nick Wright earlier in the thread but Mannix was someone who voted for Embiid last year and was an outlier in that (only 1/4 of the voters had Embiid as their top choice). So he's a guy that has already shown he's ready to pull away from Jokic.

Things are definitely getting more interesting, though. Denver has opened the door up for Giannis and Embiid. We'll see if one of them can walk through it.
