I would seriously think about trading Luka, you get a couple of good players and bunch of FRPs. Or offer him to whoever gets the first pick this year but I doubt anyone would want to swap Wembanyama for Luka.

And where was Kyrie in game that important? Grizzlies where without multiple players too. What Mavs have showed in last 5 minutes is not good enough even for ABA league.

Because they had no-one to create offense for them... Hardy is the only one that could create for himself but he was inefficient. he put up 20 plus but took 20 shots.

**** effort, those are professional players, well paid, and they have to win some games without Luka, every team is winning without their best player, Grizzlies included.
Yeah they still had 2 players that are far better than anything else Dallas has. I know it hurts euro fans when someone speaks of Luka so poorly.

Look, I wanted very much for Mavs to win, but they're just totally incapable. What is the score without Luka/Kyrie?

We Euro fans want Mavs to win. Nobody in Europe cares about individual performance on losing team.

They way they have been playing Id say prolly the same or worse. You have to try on D and STFU now and again. Luka isn't doing either right now and he's been kinda a buzz kill.

Luka was bad in last games, but that should be expected, he was just overused in this season. Mavs were playing like it's playoffs already the whole season. Game after game even against bad opponents were clutch games. And after the trade, coach should put priorities, unfortunately there is nobody, who can draw any kind of a plan for last minutes.

We can agree on that the end of game stuff is ridiculous.

Quality of the roster is ridiculous, those last possessions were like kids trying to play in Nba. Grizzlies were missing important players too, but they looked like solid team in last 5 minutes.

I mean that's kinda expected. The issue is why is it when Luka plays we see less energy and effort. We don't see that when both are missing or just Luka.

Maybe if the same effort was there when Luka played it offset some of the Lukaless losses.

They would win with Kyrie. With Luka this game isnt close. Luka has been a negative for this team for a while now. I would trade him if I can get a reasonable package back. Kyrie is probably not staying anyway so just start the rebuild now. Luka will never get in shape and as such will always suck on defense. Nobody wants to play with someone who only plays on offense, whines all the time, is childish and expect everyone but him to play defense.

Ok let's not get carried away. Yes Luka is having some issues right now but no way do you even think if trading him.

I would, in a heartbeat. He is what he is at this point and we saw last year what a championship level team did to him in the playoffs. He is not the guy to lead you to a ring as your best player. He is a very good #2 though.

Luka can be fat and slow and still be better than kyrie ever was!!! Kyrie plays defense? Ever since he joined mavs he got cooked by Fox twice, Maxey, CJ, Haliburton... all had monsters games against Kyrie. Irving been cancer to every team ever since he left the cavs... he folded for boston and same for Nets...

I believe it's not that simple. Basketball or any other sport is not about one team but about opponents too. Their effort is not the same when they see that Mavs are missing one or two best players. Grizzlies were bad today, but unfortunately Mavs couldn't get a win.

Bucks for example are winning easily many times without Giannis. If Mavs were winning half of Bucks Giannis less wins, they would have been on 4th position easily.

Mavs were good C away of making the finals. Looney just destroyed them. Put Luka in Bucks instead of Giannis and he can easily win the title. Jrue, Middleton and Lopez are perfect teammates for Luka.

Put Giannis in last year's Mavs a d he can't do anything.

**** Luka and Kyrie for not playing that important game. You, (Americans), just can't understand how laughable all those "injuries", personal reasons are for Europeans in that important part of the season. **** them both.

Who plays better with Kyrie??? Because one game they hit shots than another they don't...Mavs been a streaky team all season when they hit they unbeatable but when they cold its a straight L...

Nothing, because it's too small sample size and Luka obviously totally spend for carrying Mavs the whole season. Kyrie was great, but unfortunately he missed important plays in the clutch too.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
