Weaver should go get Udoka
Sounds like we may never know what really happened but his own wife sounds baffled why Celtics made it such a public acandal. Players love and respect him.
Just seems like the kind of tough, no nonsense type of guy that our young squad needs.

I'm down on Juwan Howard bigly after this season. Jerry Stackhouse is seemingly ripe for his first NBA gig. Udoka will have another job come start of next season.
Weaver = Hinkie
VW to Portland

If we go with a guy whose already been a head coach- Udoka

If we don’t then Charles Lee, the bucks associate head coach.

Get Udoka, sign Bridges. Might as well go all in on the negative PR cycle and have that storm hit at the same time. The media will move on soon enough anyway:

Duren, Wiseman
Bojan, Stewart, Bagley
Bridges, Diallo, Livers
Ivey, Burks
Cade, Hayes

Not sure why udoka gets so much hype, the Celtics have a better record this season without him than they did last season.

Wouldn’t that mean we should get joe mazzulla when udoka is reinstated?

Mazzulla was signed as the long-term coach last month, and Udoka officially dismissed. Agreed though, I think the Celtics resurrection last season is only partly due to him and think he gets too much credit for it.

I'm down on Howard, further he gets away from Beilein the worse the team is getting, plus he's embarrased the school a few times not being able to control himself. I'm not sure he gets another job at a D1 after Michigan fires him.

Udoka has been replaced by an assistant in Boston and they've not dropped off, I'd be hesitant about his coaching skills based on the year in Boston.

Yea, Stackhouse has been paying his dues, someone is going to give him a shot, he's been pretty successful I think, with the Detroit ties and his success as a head coach in the g-league/college I think he would be a good pick, if they dump Casey.

I just want a guy that is good with guards. Cade and ivey have too much talent and aren't used correctly.

I do legitimately believe the Celtics had a turnaround last year due to Udoka's adjustments.

Remember that crazy start the Warriors got off to when Steve Kerr was out and Luke Walton was handling coaching duties for a while? I'd hardly call that an indictment of Steve Kerr's coaching, and Luke Walton hasn't had success since leaving the Warriors.

That said, I also think that Mazzulla is a great coach. Some franchises just have high quality guys in their organization. The Celtics, as much as I don't care for them, seem to have a lot of talent within that organization. I don't think Udoka gets hired by anyone for a while. He's got some talent but there's just too much baggage there.

Isn't Atkinson the developmental guy? That's what we really need. The heart of the team is really young and we aren't competing next season no matter what they want. You would think he could bring some better X and O as well in a system that complements the players.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Dangn't, y'all got me excited when I first saw that this thread was bumped.

I thought Casey was outie 5000.

What a letdown.

Yep, during those awful yet revival Nets days after the awful trades for Garnett, Pierce, and Johnson years Atkinson took the reins and made them look competitive enough to be on the radars for both KD and Kyrie. He took scraps and made it look functional so he's pretty solid in my book

Stackhouse seems to be getting some hype too which funny enough for a guy that was such an ISO heavy guy is now helming a decent flow offensive team. He seems ripe for a succession story in the NBA somewhere, him being Casey's replacement may work too

Well, if we were to hire Stack, at least we’d know no one would be picking a fight with our coach. Jerry will f you up.
