Most fans don't realize how much career value ______ lost due to injury.
Who's a player that lost a lot of career value due to injury but most fans don't realize how much?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Paul George should be the first and only answer.
Pacers George literally gave LeBron AND Wade fits then he changed his # to 13 and tried to show James Harden who went to HOU and was becoming the new man in the NBA he was a superior SG in the Olympic scrimmage and he became... human so to say.
Yeah there's others but Paul George is it. And I loved me some Penny who is my other choice.
Still fantastic but not super exceptional like the trajectory he once had.

Tyreke Evans. I know a lot of people don't like him very much but let's look at what happened
He went to a King's team that was god awful and he averaged 20 5 and 6 on 46% from the field in the brutal Western Conference. Mind you this draft class is one of the most underrated drafts ever with Steph Curry, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Derozan, Jrue Holiday and Brandon Jennings. And he ended up winning rookie of the year
At 6'6 220 lbs he was Dwayne Wade-esque in his ability to slash, create, a better ball handler, good mid range game, and can play and defend 3 positions on the court
After his first injury in his 2nd season his game was never the same even though he was still a good player, he never was able to reach his peak and kept getting injured
I think he could of been a better player than Demar in this draft class

I still believe to this day Brandon Roy was the most talented player in trailblazers history and was en route to be a top 5 shooting guard of all time.
Blake Griffin looked like an MVP caliber player in his first season with the pistons (8th season of his career); he had the full package of handle, playmaking, post game, three point shooting off the bounce and spot up. And that was with maybe ~70% of the athleticism he used to have, if he remained healthy his entire career and got to pair that skill set with his peak athleticism he would've been unbelievable.

Tim Duncan dealt with knee issues most of his career. He tore his meniscus in the 78th game of the 2000 season missing the playoffs and chance to defend his first ring. That injury robbed him of a good amount of athleticism. Yeah he was still an all timer after that but had it never happened he probably would have been ever better

Kawhi. I think he would’ve been a top 10 player ever if he stayed healthy.

Nah. Just because you have a good series doesn't put you on their level. I never felt like that or that his team's ever had a chance of beating them. He was always clearly a grade or two below and was never fully consistent

A lot of you are naming obvious guys when most people know about them. I think that John Wall is a little underrated in this category. Took the Wiz 6 and 7 games in the ec semis in 3 of 4 years. He was literally one or two games from the ecf in 3 of 4 years only losing to the one seed. His final healthy season he averaged 23 & 11.
He had playoffs series where he put up 30 & 10 for the whole 6 games and eliminated Atlanta on the road with 42. Took Boston 7 and was close in the 4th of game 7 until he finally ran out of gas from carrying the team. I literally remember that ESPN had him ranked the 2nd best player in the east that year behind lebron and ahead of pg

It’s true. He basically went from sport mode to economy mode as a young player but he was still the best player in the league, or in the top tier, for years and he pretty much had the perfect career.
