Thank god that the 76ers have two top-10 MVP guys is all I have to say. Things would look really ugly if you swapped Harden out for Murray.

But if you swap Harden for Murray, Joker's assists drop to what, 6 per game? Maybe 7? Their record is better, but no triple double.

People are really overstating games missed for Embiid some reason.

Unless a guy has missed more than 20 games in a season, I think context of when the games were missed should be factored in. Embiid has only missed 5 games since November, in playoff push time he's been out there getting it done.

It’s actually probably closer now especially with the Nuggets pitiful recent stretch losing to terrible teams. Very overrated team. Embiid probably deserves it as much as Jokic but Jokic will get the edge due to # games played. Embiid will not crack 70+ games played again.

Yup, one is definitely not like the other

Yeah. Murray was really developing nicely (Bubble, following year) and then the ACL got blown out. It's a shame. And he's still working his way back from that. He had to leave today's game because of pain in that knee.

Still, he's never going to be Harden. Harden was MVP, 2nd in MVP voting 3 times, 3rd in MVP voting another time. Murray will never come close to being a top-10 MVP candidate. He may never be an All-Star.

Denver's in a tough spot with Murray and Porter maxed. I doubt Jokic would ever ask for a trade, but who knows?

Denver has a lot of holes to fill.

Embiid is dominating like this without any other all-stars on his team. Impressive.

Pretty sure Jokic takes the wins lmao

I’d much rather see Jokic win a championship at this point than another MVP to be honest.

For sure he takes the wins and the chip, but this is the MVP thread.

That’s true, but at that point forget about the MVP you have a lot better chance of winning the championship with Harden.

Joker is having a fantastic season but I would give it to Joel Embiid. He has had a great 3 year run I think he deserves one MVP. His team is winning at a high clip and the East is looking like a great 3 team race at the top!

I don’t want embiid to win mvp. I just want him to be first team all nba. It’s a shame embiid has lost out on nba first team all nba in 2019, 2021, 2022.

Those are career alternating achievements (multiple first team all nba) which matters more than one mvp. (My opinion)

I just want embiid (and harden) to be healthy the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. That’s all.

Eventually the stars will align for sixers.

Ok, these look like the latest odds for MVP. They appear to have been done after Sunday's 3/12 games, but I can't say for sure.

https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/navigation/nba?tab=player-awards

Jokic ----------> -220
Embiid --------> +260
Giannis -------> +950

Jokic odds worsening, Embiid improving. I'm not sure why Giannis' odds aren't better, but whatever.

No. The problem is that most people aren’t intelligent enough to figure out how these stats work. And trust me…you don’t need to be a genius. You need to look at lineups and see which stats get more weighted and you can form a more educated opinion opposed to just looking at a list and jumping to a conclusion. Use the eye test as well. Jokic gets a lot of rebounds and steals. That boosts the stat. I won’t ever call Jokic a great defender, but he does a lot of things right on that end, some things not so well.

But yeah, numbers can be deceiving and you’ll never once hear me say he’s a better defender than those guys. People just need to do a little research opposed to being outraged by them.

Because he's missed the last 3 games.

Because he clearly doesn't wants it like Embiid does. Giannis in his first MVP season was a mad animal hunting down every single team he was facing on both ends of the floor. After his first championship there is a bigger picture on his mind and it doesn't worth playing through injuries for just another MVP award right now despite having everything needed to win another this season(Stats/best seed/best player on best team).

Only Embiid can really raise his status with a MVP right now because he has none atm. It will do almost nothing for Giannis.
Same for Jokic too but for different reasons.
